TBC Expansion pack

Hey guys.

Since the Vanilla keys is now including a TBC expansion, what is my "old" TBC Expansion? Will the key from it (that isnt used) upgrade a TBC account to WotLK or wont anything happen at all?

In 2011, the Burning Crusade (BC) expansion was completely merged with the original World of Warcraft game, as it was no longer being sold in stores except as part of a "Battle Chest". All new players who purchase the Battle Chest or download the basic game now receive BC as well

Is what I've found, therefore I'm looking for someone who got actual experience.
