So I have been on freaking newegg and tigerdirect putting together the cheapest 8 core botting rig I can think of (thats still nice).... sides graphics cards cause I have gtx 460's 560 ti's and other decent cards that I can use here it is...

Mobo
Newegg.com - MSI 970A-G46 AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS

Ram
Newegg.com - CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 15000) Desktop Memory Model CMZ8GX3M2A1866C9R

Processor
Newegg.com - AMD FX-8120 Zambezi 3.1GHz Socket AM3+ 125W Eight-Core Desktop Processor FD8120FRGUBOX

Case
Diablotek CPA-3570 Epic ATX Mid Tower Case - ATX, Mcro ATX, 3x Ext 5.25 Bay Drives, 1x Ext 3.5 Bay Drive, 5x Int 3.5 Bay Drives, 7x Expansion Slots, 2x Front USB, 1x Front eSATA Port, Black at TigerDirect.com

As for PSU and HDD I have a few good 1 tb HDD's and a SSD sata 3 laying around so I dont need that + 750 watt coolmaster psu for it. What ya think all of that for $332 Minus a cheap PSU and HDD + the video cards I have. My current intel Q6600 quad core is going to be retired from the botting life n moving to multi media. Again I am not looking for an expensive build its just mainly (99%) for botting I have my I7-2600k build for gaming (and I know intel is amazing vs AMD but more expensive)

Sry.. but FX-8120 is not fun for botting expect you don't have to pay for electricity.
BTW: it's a 4 module, 8 thread CPU, not a 8 core cpu!

Take a i5 Sandy or Ivy Bridge. With the FX you'll spend approx 15$ more on power per MONTH.

^ lol....

My power bill in my office because its out in a garage (have a pit, hoist, Tire changing room, bascially a full car workshop) is only 75$ a month with this Pc build in my sig running 24-7.

Thats including 2 Fridges with freezers, Hotwater Cylinder, 2 Monitors, Commercial Air compressor (50Gallion) (dont run that often but when i do power doesnt go over 100$ a month) Been this way for years oh and Welding equipment etc. Oh yeah and a swamp cooler running 10+ hours a day in summer.

Majority of which gets used maybe once a week if that now since i dont do much repairs anymore.

this build will work for $330 upgrade

just make sure you have a good heatsink. the stock heatsinks suck

now what would a good video card with this be and other cheap components?
SORRY FOR MAYBE HIJACKING THE THREAD

i know jack shit about computers, well software i do but hardware im a total noob.
what would be good complementary or replacing components to make this into a full workign computer? ( preferably with links )

im planning on coppying it ( and i do have to pay my own power bill so thats something to keep in mind )

thanks for any help.
and if not, thanks anyways

FX8120 IS an eight core CPU.
Compare Desktop Processors

FX-8xxx -> 8 Core
FX-6xxx -> 6 Core
FX-4xxx -> 4 Core

There are many synthetic benchmarks around the net but I'm almost certain that fx-8120 will outperform equal priced i5 specially if you choose to go with VM per core or use ISBoxer and use single core for each instance.

Went pretty hard off of your rig baal. Here's my current setup all ordered directly from newegg -- Newegg.com - Once You Know, You Newegg. Sitting at around $630ish.--. Doubled the ram and added PSU, HDD, VC, etc. You can save a buttload more too if you look into a lot of the refurbished deals. Like right now u can pick up 5 150GB HDDs for $20.00 a piece (set up 3 bots running off of each HDD). This rig should be able to run 15+ bots without issue.

This doesn't include a monitor or any of that crap because I have a KVM device. It would be cool if as a community we setup a basic and efficient bot rig :).
