Maybe some of the older stuff on the forums could be cleaned up or archived so it doesn't show on searches? I'm constantly downloading profiles, plugins and botbases that don't work anymore, not to mention the dozens of threads with disabled downloads on them =/

Agreed. But Mr. 4 posts... You'd be leecher status on any other forum.

I'm happy to assist with the cleaning if that helps. My 4 posts are just me keeping myself to myself. If I had more time I'd contribute more, but WoW botting is a great way to have more time while still wanting to progress in WoW ;p.

I'm sure a lot of what I suggested would be doable with an SQL query given that many postrs are marked as downloads disabled, to do that they must be flagged in some way!

This is where checking the post/latest post, checking the posted date and checking the last edited date comes in handy.

There is a lot of content on the forums but theres alot of support/help also, its all about using your brain imo

The above usually happen, when a new major Honorbuddy update is pushed, which is generally non-compatible with the old profiles/plugins.

If I am not wrong, this happened once, a few years ago, when the most profiles/plugins got archived, if they were not compatible with the new HB 2.0

P.S.:
A profile/plugin is usually not up-to-date if there is no noticeable forum posts in its thread in the last year (Exception are the Holiday profiles, which gets some love once per year, accordingly)

Regarding the disabled downloads - Please notice, that they occur only on archived threads!

Hi, all,

^These^ are the correct answers.

  • The forums are scrubbed when a release of Honorbuddy is made that significantly impacts backward-compatibility.
Such things usually only happen at game-client 'expansion' time, since the game client itself is breaking the compatibility.

  • The rest of the time, the users should be reporting threads that offer items that no longer work.
It may take more than one report to have such a thread archived.

  • If your search turns up anything in the Archives forum, you should ignore it.

  • The forum has an Advanced Search capability that works quite well.
(We know, because we use it ALL the time to answer things.)
Google is a good alternative, but completely unnecessary.
Educating people on how to use Vbulletin search is beyond the scope of 'Honorbuddy support'. We suggest Googling for it. :D

cheers,
chinajade

The standard vbulletin search is crap. I always use google because its faster and it doesnt show me 20 year old threads when theres an actual one...

OR:
The following errors occurred with your search
The following words are either very common, too long, or too short and were not included in your search:
lfr, hfc

If you dont have much DB problems, you could change that to 2.
