So i was wondering, what is the most important thing on the computer that allows many programs to run smoothly.. like I know RAM is important, thats based on the physical memory, but what makes the "cpu usage"? I heard the system bus is important?

well..
A new cpu (quad core for example) will make a huge difference if you run multiple applications at the same time. ie. WoW
But you also need a good video card.

It all comes down to your needs and how much you're willing to spend.:)

You can't simply put 12GB of RAM in a pentium 4 machine because of bottlenecks also (and unless you're running 64bit/Win7 etc it won't recognize more then 3.5GB)

As mentioned above, a decent quad core CPU (2.4Ghz +), around 6GBs of RAM, and a fast HD (I currently use a very fast SSD, Solid State Drive) will will great performance and multitasking.

Only having one of the above will not yield much of a peformance increase because the other factors can be extremely limiting.

any suggestion for 6bots pc ? thinking of i3 + 4gb + any 80usd graphic card, open 6wow simultaneously setting /console maxfps 10 /console maxfpsbk 5

will this do alright? still planing on my next bot station~

probably need to upgrade that video card at least. 64 bit os to be sure.

I run 8x wows on a core2quad (2.6ghz), 4gb 800mhz DDR2 ram and an nvidea gts250 (?90) - windows xp sp3 (yeah i know i only get 3.5gb ram)

I can also multi-task at the same time.

:) Whole pc cost about ?350-?400

thanks, now i know where my money is heading to~ $.$

i7, 8 gigs, ati 5770 can run over 10 WoW perfectly fine, didn't test more than that =)

AMD Phenom II X4 955 (4x3.2 Ghz) / 4GB DDR3-1333 RAM / ATI HD Radeon 4890 (overclocked by manufacturer)

I run 7 WoWs and I can still use firefox while doing it.
I think I can do a mximum of 9 WoWs here then the RAm will be full.
With 8GB and a fast SSD I sure can do up to 14 WoWs. (My CPU is at 30-40% with 7 WoWs and GPU is at ~45%)
Costt for the whole PC were ~850€ (including Win7/tower/ and everything else)

ssd really helps ? i dont see how it worth the money though... (not that getting 1tb normal hdd helps but atleast its way cheaper than ssd... any significant improvement comparing ssd to normal hdd in botting ?)
