As you have already seen on the sticky announcements, we are shutting down Stormbuddy this very moment.

Now let me explain few things here and i will add more Q & A once questions appear that are not covered here.


Refund: Everyone who purchased Stormbuddy can ask for a refund at [email protected]

Exchange: Everyone who purchased Stormbuddy can ask for another Bot in exchange. Only one exclusion is, that people based in Germany are not able to receive a Demonbuddy key in exchange.

Harm: Harm is done in the way, that we are not sure what Blizzard wants to achive with the source code of Stormbuddy. Maybe they want to increase their own bot AI, maybe they want to use it against us.

Danger: At this point, and while shutting down Stormbuddy, we see no actual harm for the time being. We can not guarantee the safety for the future tho. Thats why Stormbuddy is been shut down.

You are welcome to ask any questions here. Any other language than English is also allowed.
 
Hey Bossland, I would like to ask you a few questions:
How was Blizzard able to find Apocs identity out? I am not aware how it works in the US, but you/ he should check if this was legitimate!
Is there a risk towards other products? Were the same "stealth processes" used in Stormbuddy as in HB or DB? Apoc seems also to code for HB and I think I ask myself the question "why does blizzard wants everything from Stormbuddy, but nothing of HB?" Were any HB sources taken over?
Could you tell us when this story happend? Was it just a few days ago or was it weeks, months ago?
Do you plan to start a new "Stormbuddy" project, or is the game over for bossland bots?


You should schedule another lawsuit, they stole something from you and use it. They do not own the rights to use your sourcecode. They sued you for using their logo! Fight with the same weapons back, they stole more of you than you did of them!

Can't help but speculate though. If they can threaten apoc to give up the source code for SB, why not HB in the same swipe. Or the rest of the bots he was working on for that matter
 
我想知道风暴英雄在接下来有没有更换制作团队重新开发辅助机器人的计划？如果没有，终身key的退款是全额退款吗？退款方式是什么（毕竟不同国家不同渠道），值得抱怨的是我信任贵公司的产品在hb db都有使用，我想知道这是否是个例？其他辅助是否安全？如果暴雪得到了源代码做进一步研究，是否会导致之前使用SB的人被大面积封号？吐槽一句：我刚刚购买了三十天强化剂，真是悲伤。

How could I get the refund？I purchased stormbuddy through alipay ,then could I get the refund through alipay?
 
OCR version please!! :) I cant imagine it would take much to bring the "alpha OCR" version back to life... on top of that, its a lot safer than injecting python.

This is unfortunate in many ways. Best to Apoc and the rest of the stormbuddy and buddy team.

well, can we get a reply on weather u continue with the alpha version ? It really doesnt need to have some fancy ai mechacnis to win 90% of the vs bot games on begginer diffcutly really, i think even A-right click enemy base will work just fine as things stands with begginer ai.

Btw bossland has it occured to you guys that perhaps all they wanted to achieve is causing you to shut down the bot by having the soruce code ? What if they cant use it against you ? I mean isnt it at least worth trying to push for another update and see if there are ban waves ? It is really not that big of a deal, there were banwaves in the past in almost all stormbuddy products this will be no different. And i doubt people will cry so much over banned hots account, i hardly beleive anyone bot on their main with 100 usd worth of skins etc...

I love it when ppl say making bots are easy --- if it was so easy to make why are we paying bosslands ;) (I know you cant see the sarcasm when I type)

I ment in terms of ai, doesnt need to do anything fancy besides push, i didnt meant easy to make bots in techincal term, rather in gameplay mechanics.

Comptez-vous vous retourner (pénalement) contre votre développeur et contre blizzard pour recèle?
Si (et c'est logiquement le cas) le code source est votre propriété intellectuelle, Blizzard ayant trouvé une solution pour récupérer votre code source, Blizzard est dans l'illégalité...

A very sad news. Putting pressure on Apoc is certainly not a fair way to accomplish what they are trying to do.

In that dark moment, I wish all the best to Apoc, a person I really enjoy and to all the buddy team.

It is nice to indicate that you will answer the questions, but then not doing it is not that nice... Could you please answer my questions of page one or just say you won't give any informations about it?
