STATE of Questing 12/12 2010

There were a few projects I saw to make the "ultimate" questing 1-60 profile (HORDE project, only one I can name off the top of my head) and I used an older profile that started in Undead and went pretty well from 1-60 but not still seemed to act super botty a few certain levels.
60-70 and 70-80 are still unchanged.. And the new 80-85 I havent seen one questing profile but im sure someone is at it.

The games changed cata shattered the world and added tons of quests, these projects still here or given up?
With this topic I want to ask a few questions
Is the problem with questing in the profiles or hb itself?
Should a person whos never made A questing profile decide to try?
Given enough effort is it possible to have a 99% flawless questing profile?
Are there any serious efforts right now at a 80-85 Questing profile, and if so how can I help?

Always give it a try, if you can't do it or don't know how ask on the forums there is a dozen of good people willing to help you out!

I have been making a questing profile for Mount Hyjal, im going to add Vashj'ir and Uldum to make it 80-85. I'm 3 days into making it and so far only 4 quests I haven't gotten the bot to do. and im adding more quest each day, ill work on it some more tonight when the hangover wears off . I have asked for clarification in the developer forum's for the correct pattern on how to do some of the quests as they are not in the wiki, but the people that could answer my query's must be busy because they haven't given me a reply to the topics I posted for help with,progress is being made but is very slow.

Well that question is a bit void really seeing as the profile only decides what and when to do something and not how which is HB's part. Now for the actual kicker... most of the problems are caused by WoW, the reason is because they add stupid quests in the middle of very important quest chains which are also pre-requisites for other big chains.
Now whilst the devs are working their asses off trying to give us the ability to do a lot of these difficult quests we, as profile writers, need to realise they can only give us so much extra functionality due to various limitations.

Should a person whos never made A questing profile decide to try?

Of course they should, the more people that realise how easy it is the more options the community will have in regards to profiles. It also means people will have an understanding of how things work when it comes to fixing problems. Don't forget that learning the basics will give an insight in why decent profiles take a long while to get perfect.

Given enough effort is it possible to have a 99% flawless questing profile?

This heavily depends on the person writing the profile. If the person just throws a whole list of quests into a profile it will struggle simply because of the lack of effort put in, however if the person goes through everything properly it will be as close to perfect as you can possibly get.

Are there any serious efforts right now at a 80-85 Questing profile, and if so how can I help?

I assume there are people who are serious about this but having played the content twice through since release I struggle to see how they are going to cope without effectively writing an entire grinding profile and then adding a handful of quests. The new content requires massive leaps forward in regards to HB's current abilities, whilst the devs are working their asses off trying to get this sorted we much be patient as its no simple task.



Oh and the other vital bit of information is do not for one moment think you can just follow the steps straight out of a guide like Zygor because for many reasons you are going to either struggle massively or fail completely.
