standing still

hi all i was just wondering when doing a rift , db will do some then just stand there for awhile or til dead then start working again maybe 5-7 times a rift. it seems to take about a 1/2 hour to do a rift t6 is this normal or am i missing something. i just got this a few days ago so still learning it tyvm
