Here is a post from another bots website. I've never used it, but the second paragraph has me intrigued. I figured this is not only the best, but probably the only place to post this to seek out some opinions on the matter.

I'll italicize the portion which has me curious. Is it hyperbole? Literal? What does it mean? Are devs actually in contact with and shooting moves with blizzard execs? Or is it a catch phrase with some underlying meaning that I'm missing? Perhaps he means the legal department and he's using "blizzard" to seem more legit? I dont know in the slightest. Perhaps somebody has experience with this team who has more inside information.

Ultimately those that are referred to as the "tin foil hat wearers" may be more on point than we care to believe at first glance if what he says is to be taken at face value. Anyways, without further adieu....

"Dear Community,

This is our last official announcement. The recent ban wave in Hearthstone hit a lot of users.

After discussing this with Blizzard, it’s clear we have to take off our services/products now. Please note that we’re not going to be commenting further on this.

Thank you all for being part of our community. We are very sad about this but you also know botting is against the rules and we all knew that the day when our products doesn't work anymore would come.

With tears in our eyes we have to say bye.

In Love,

The whole team of XXXXXXXbots."

So what do you guys think? Is blizzard actually contacting or in contact with bot teams trying to find common ground and work out a "deal" so to speak?

Of course they are...Blizz's legal team will send out threats all the time. If the companies don't comply, Blizzard sues them. The companies that don't have a lot of money will fold and the companies that do have a lot will fight.

An Intelletcual Property lawyer isn't very useful if they aren't protecting their client's intellectual property.

no the devs are not working with blizz to work out a "deal" or find a common ground as said in the post above what they mean by "After discussing this with Blizzard" is blizz told them that there software is against there rules and they don't like it and they can 1) discontinue and shut down there services or 2) they will take them to court with the lawyers they pay millions of dollars to on staff and have them living on the side of the street in card board boxes

bots are against the rules and we all take risks using them and the devs all take financial risks in developing them blizz does not negotiate with botters they have a zero tolerance policy so if you think for a second that the devs of this product or any others are working with blizz to make deals you need to tighten up the strap on that helmet and increase the dose of your medication

crawlerbots were shit compared to buddybots. Maybe a coincidence, but they shut their bots down at the same time the whole community was damn hungry against devs because hearthcrawler was so fucking bad mantained

Klepp you should stop posting your "paranoia" topics on forum. Every your post or started topic is like something from priest that stand in centre of city and is yelling "World is doomed, save yourself!" or "Come closer and we can talk about Cthulhu"

Ofc that Blizz is in some contact with bot devs in some way. Usually this contact is very simple "Close your bot or we will sue your ass". Crawler wasn't first bot that was closed this way - for example Pirox tools were also closed this way.

Only one bot dev is trying to fight Blizz on legal ground and you can read about it here https://www.thebuddyforum.com/the-buddy-bots/legal/

On the other side, your posts, Trixiap, are never biased and are always thrown at a nice and healthy impartiality position.

Pot calling the kettle black.

school me please. what am i paranoid about? Where i come from we call this an intelligent discussion. Try it out, good times! Whats not so good is you can almost smell responses like this before even making the post.

Anyhow, so they meant talking to blizzards legal team when they cited "talking to blizzard" and maybe they didnt do "talking" at all then eh? Perhaps just a CnD letter? Not sure that would be enough though considering if somebody like that got served one, someone like bossland hand to and it certainly had no impact here.

Anyways, it is what it is. Just wondering if someone knew something from being part of the community over there or whatnot. Seems all the devs from all the different bots generally have a different perspective on the entire shenanigan. You can certainly see the effect all over my server. Its low pop as it is and the auction house is literally BARREN now and what is there is stupid expensive :P
