Someone knew I was using a CR as soon as I joined the group?

I used the Group Finder to get into a 1700ish CR RBG group on my aff lock. 30 seconds later one of the people said "hey this lock has honorbuddy, just sayin."

I was just like "yeah, I use it for an AH bot and leveling alts, whatever, check my rating, it's obvious I don't use it", trying to downplay it. No one really cared, but I was curious as to how he knew near immediately.

Obviously this isn't a big deal, and I'm going to continue using it, but how could he have known? Was there some kind of leak, or whatever?

I've only been using it a few weeks on that toon, and I have seperate emails/forum names, etc, for everything related to this bot.
 
Never admit to using HB ever to people in-game or on voice chat. That was dumb. I'd think someone who's been registered here for 2 years would know this.

Secondly, there is no way a player would know you used unless they've played with you before several times and know what it looks like (probably from botting themselves).

i have a lock cr and i can tell if someone else is using it or not. ( i mean the same cr) So, the answer is obvious. He is using HB too
 
The warlock cr is so obvious since it dots everything without targetting anything.. ;) And.. how stupid can you be? I mean, you tell them you use HB? Wow.. just wow..
 
dont make ur bot create healstone and buff himself that look bottish

lol true. There is once a rbg groupfinding post their note as looking for a script lock! And i whispered them that I will be much better than a script lock and get accepted in. Even tho I am a script lock..
 
never admit it, make up things if people suspect it, always manually target things periodically changing targets to make it look like the game may be slightly behind you, and turn off or lower the reaction time of silencing, if you can't and use something like richies cr then either turn it off or use a succubus instead because people notice that giant beam going across from your pet to silence but when the succubus interrupts with the whiplash it isn't noticeable. There are other excuses you can use for the dotting without targeting thing but I won't say them on here because I use that as my story, if you wanna know send me a pm.

I see who bots are in raids, heroics, bg, arena aswell here a few things i do..

i remove buffs and see who instantly applies it
i check buff uptimes on skada
if i'm on a tank character i move the mobs around very fast, like a leap, roll, charge. I see who is facing me the qucikest.
the one i really like is on my invis chars, i pull something out of the blue with no readycheck or dbm pull timer and see who blasts every cooldown they have and invis..

These are just a few i have more but cannot think atm
 
On my 2300 cr lock,

Personally i just say i have arena 1 2 3 macros for everything but i also switch targets from time to time to make it look manual, sometimes i also kick manually and let myself get juked on purpose...

That doesn't work in a rated BG obviously but i dont do RBGs. :)
 
Just say you use mouse over macros. And it's pretty well known (and assumed) that every aff lock that does good damage is a bot.

My brother mains a Warlock, he can play it manually and use targeting macros and mouseover macros diligently to achieve similar results. Wouldn't any strong Warlock do?
 
If you use HB, you can spot HB. Stupid to admit usage of HB.

Firstly admitting to a group of people that you do use it, it just flat our retarded.

Secondly, admitting to a group of people almost guarantees that they will remember your locks name, so future games where they play on alts with your lock they will know your using HB and possibly tell others.

if i were you id change my Characters name, it wont help you escape the more than likely player reports you have against you, but atleast they wont know who you are.

It's still way too obvious with a bot.
 
most people that know that you use private routines are long time honorbuddy users like me we know when someone is using it or not because we notice the rotation wise and stuf like targeting etc just iggnore those guys

that is not as fast as this bot targets a mouse over macro needs to point evrytime to a mob player etc that is alot of slower then this bot does
 
It is not hard to mouseover the battleground targets and spam dots. Ofc if you play without addons as lock or you have your cr poorly setup it is another story.

But anyway I highly doubt that anyone can tell if someone is botting in rbgs as lock since it is a 10 button class that doesn't require much mircro management in RBG.
