Some Questions of a Newbie

Hi everyone!

i bought BG yesterday, tested it a bit and im very satisfied =) i used glider before the big banwave and paused botting after this wave.
now to my questions:
1. i farmed about 1,5k x saronite ore. what is the best way of selling them? or what do u prefer? smelting? prospecting? crafting/disenchanting?
2. same with titanium ore

i think its not clever to only sell the ore.
any other tricks or tipps for a beginner like me?

Hey,

Getting the most profit is definitely server-depentend. But what I do is the following:

If you cant find a private buyer for your saronite ore, just smelt it.
By then, you can sell the Saronite Bars to the vendor for 25g/stack which is quite some good money.
But dont sell everything, find yourself a Transmute-Alchemist to transmute your Saronite Bars to Titanium Bars. Then just buy Eternal Earth/Shadow/Fire and smelt Titansteel Bars. These sell for 60-120g a piece.

For the Titanium Ore. It depends on how much its worth on your Server. I have two ways:
If a stack is worth less than 230g, prospect it and sell the powder & epic gems.
If a stack is worth more than 230g, sell it on the AH/private Buyers

Smelting Saronite seems like an good idea. 1 stack of Saronite Ore costs 11.5g so its not worth selling the ore. Titanium Ore isnt worth prospecting on my server so i ll try to sell it on the AH. A friend has a transmute-alchemist, i ll give it a try.

If 20 Saronite Ores sell for 11.5 g then you have a chance to make some gold right there. You need 40 Ores to make 20 bars, which totals to 23 g for two stacks of ores and since they sell to the vendor for 25 gold per stack then you've made a 2 gold profit from just smelting stuff that is already on the AH!
 
But dont overdo it. You might get banned for exploiting the economy when you sell too much to the vendor :)

I ll try sell a mix of Saronite Ore, Saronite Bars, Titansteelbars and prospected gems and then I ll see whats sells best. Another question: what to do with all that Eternal Earth and Shadow? I think about 50 each are too much to sell all at the AH.
 
About the "exploiting the economy" by selling Saronite Bars. Dont worry too much, I sell around 25 stacks per day and didnt get a ban yet, tho I read some got one ;)

You can always sell Eternal Shadows in the Auction House. I get around 330g/Stack. Just keep some in your bank if you plan on making more Titansteel Bars.
Eternal Earth can be sold too, or you can use it along with green gems to craft these level 71 juwelcrafting rings/necklaces and disenchant these afterwards for Infinite Dust and Greater Cosmic Essences.

I just keep my selling plain and simple with just mining, i smelt all my saronite ore into saronite bars and mass vendor since its virtually impossible to sell saronite raw on AH these day's, i sell all my Eternal's raw on the AH and all other gem's raw, Titanium ore is the big money earner for me, i check the AH to see if there is alot of stacks's put up and if they is i constantly stock pile it till the AH is nearly empty and then flood it on the weekend's (seem's to be the day's when people are busy or lazy to farm it themsleves so they throw there gold at you) but i never under-cut more then 0.2% since it will damage the economy. (flooding the AH with titanium ore doesnt damage the economy since no-one re-sell's it on and i dont undercut by stupid amount's) take's about a hour till someone mass buy's all my ore.

Edit... i forgot to mention i have 1 farming account and i dont farm for 24/7 i farm for like 8 hour's every 2-3 day's and with the mat's i bring in i ever stockpile if the AH prices are low or throw all the mats on the AH. (Im not a big arse farmer)

I am mixing and matching alot right now. My goal right now is to stock pile for Cata. I currently have 4 guild banks with 3/4 tabs trying to maintain one tab for each herb/mineral. (lichbloom, icethorn, saronite, cobalt, adder, etc.)

I do one night farming minerals, one night farming herbs and switch up locations. On my server right now, whenever im in Sholazar i get whispered ALOT asking if I am a bot. I dont AFK much in there (I had a dedicated botting computer beside my main)

I find im making the most right now on selling titansteel bars. I get about 40-60 titansteel over 2 days. (have a transmute spec alt) With titanium, i prospect it and sell the purple gems (have a JC alt) and use the green gems to make meta gems, or rings/necks to DE. Also make belt buckles with left over eternals.

With my herbs, I already have a bank tab full of frost wyrm/endless rage which so I ususally mill everything down and I make inks, and glyphs. Ink of the Sea is about 80g a stack on my server, so I will sell those while also stocking up on low level inks for the arrival of cata. (Remember to trade in all your ink of the seas before 4.0 drops, because you wont be able to trade down anymore!!)

Then there is Glyphs. I run the market for both horde and alliance on my server. I am horde and wasnt happy with the prices of glyphs so I made an alliance alt, parked him in booty bay. Used to neutral AH to transfer glyphs and have another toon parked in SW. Glyphs on horde side = 5g avg, Alliance = 52g each. So if you have the extra account, take a look in to the other factions markets. I also sell my snowfall inks on the other faction aswell.
 
To be honest id sell like 1/4 to the vendor for some quick gold then id sell about 1/4 on the AH to keep my spam of the AH down and to look more normal then try and privately sell in trade the other 1/4 and last but not least use the other 1/4 for prospecting etc. As for the titanium I would just AH it really.

Just another question: when some posts a GB profile he often posts a log which says how many nodes/herbs of each the bot gathered. Where do I find these logs?
 
In your GB folder you'll find a Debug.html file.
Open it and scroll to the end :)
 
Just a last question :D

Is there a possibility to blacklist some items? For e.g: my alt mailed the gathered ores to my bankchar, but he even mailed my Mining Pick so my alt couldnt farm anymore.
 
lol @ mailing the mining pick :D I think you need to have it the first bag (16 slot you get when you start) and it will be safe from being sent then.
