[SOLVED] Problems with the Honorbuddy Launcher.

Just before last Tuesday's update, my bot no loner launched properly. The Launcher itself is able to open, and i am able to run Honorbuddy on another computer, but despite reinstalling the program several times, it does not seem to launch. The launcher itself initially runs, opens an MS-DOS screen, and then shuts itself down after evidently encountering a problem. Any suggestions or direction as to steps i should take to get my Honorbuddy up and running would be much appreciated.

And no, there is no log because the honorbuddy itself doesn't even get to the point where it can open and begin creating a log. Tony asked me to post one when i had tried to ask for support's help in this matter directly. He sent me here and told me to post this with a log. If the log is somewhere else that relates to the launcher itself and i simply and ignorant where it lies, please inform me so i can post that log.

Hopefully resolution can be reached soon, as i would like to continue using this bot in the near future.

Hi, Ironcore,

Let's try a launching method that doesn't use the Honorbuddy launcher and see how far we get. The alternate methods are listed here:

Show us a log of this result, successful or not, please.

This does nothing whatsoever. There is no Log, as stated before, because Honobuddy never gets to the point where it runs, and because of this creates no log. I cannot provide something that isn't there. Deleting and setting things up for sole usage of the thirty two bit version makes no difference, it still opens the launcher, i click "Launch" a Ms-dos screen opens after the launcher idles, the computer informs me "A problem cause the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." Then after i click "close program", everything shuts down. No logs, no bot, nothing.
Again, i reinstalled honobuddy, directly from the site.

Hi again, Ironcore,

Let's try re-installing Honorbuddy using the installer, not the zip file. You can find the installer here:

If no joy, please try again to follow the instructions we initially gave:

If you follow these instructions correctly, neither the Honorbuddy launcher, nor the WoWclient launcher should be used. If you see a 'Ms-dos screen' open, you are doing something wrong.

Even the link you had provided still instructs you to run the launcher. As far as i am aware, the Honorbuddy does not operate at all without the launcher, i have never been able to utilize Honorbuddy without the launcher. The link you had provided before even instructs one to use the launcher. You also claim i am doing something wrong; point it out so i can get this fixed and continue running honorbuddy. If you can provide a link that somehow lets one use Honorbuddy without first using the launcher, i would implore you to direct me there.

As it currently stands, I do not recall a singular instance where i had installed honorbuddy via anything other than the installer, i have never to my memory installed through the downloadable zip file; this is completely unhelpful.

Hi again, Ironcore.

Okay, let's try it this way (explicit instructions):

  • Delete .../World of Warcraft/wow-64.exe file (if its already missing, that's good).
  • Right-click on the .../World of Warcraft/wow.exe and "Run as administrator".
  • Log into the WoW game world with the toon of your choice.
  • Right-click on .../Honorbuddy/Honorbuddy.exe and "Run as administrator".
  • Wait for an Honorbuddy window to appear.
  • Find the Honorbuddy log file, and attach it.

Holy shit, I was totally wrong, THANK YOU! The bot works by this method now, the other instructions by the link heavily suggested that you must run the bot through the launcher (and i had been told this was the only method by which to use the bot) Thank you again, everything is operational now!
