For future readers...
Obviously, something did change—otherwise, the Buddy bot would still be working. But, 'the change' might not be attributable to direct user actions.
"Nothing changed" is a specious argument. At a very minimum, most Antivirus will silently update multiple times a day without asking your permission, or informing you. These updates frequently contain new fingerprints or heuristic algorithms that will interfere with Buddy bots.
For similar, but harder-to-see reasons, other 'interfering' programs will cause problems (without you changing anything). You might have had an interfering program on your computer for a while, and its been innocuous so far. But one day, it will up and bite your Buddy bot for no apparent reason. We've learned this time-and-time-and-time again.
This is why was ask that such things be checked. The articles we linked in this thread, explain most of it.
