Look at the bottom dude who put up 161 stacks of 200 Starlight Rose... that's like asking for a ban XD
Even my 50x50 is risky, but that guy takes the prize.

i do this often with other markets. its often referred to as 'resetting the market'. you find a market where the price is low, buy up everything and repost for double.

Nope, the cost of Starlight Rose on my realm was never below 39g or so. Buying everything and reposting for 10g more is not worth it. This amount of Starlight Rose on the AH is 1.6mil minus AH cut.
Are you saying that his guy spent 1.3mil gold to earn 200k on risky business? Nah, this is a bot, a dumb one.

I'm sorry, but posting 50 auctions isn't any smarter than posting 161...

Both are idiotic moves and will eventually get you reported by a player working the AH.
 
im fighting this on my realm right now. super small auction house. usually around 20 rare gems each on the ah. this week however. there are 120+. price dropped from 2500g per down to 800g. im working now to buy out each gem.

a couple of us work together to keep gem prices around 2500g. then these two show up yesterday.
 
Having 161 stacks does not mean you have botted it.

There is tons of legit players, who "live" on the botters, buying their botted goods, then reselling and/or shuffling them with their maxed crafting professions.

This is common since 2005.

I was playing with the AH and bulk buying tons of herbs and ores from the Chinese for several years, before I started to bot.
 
thats actually how i got into botting. i was introduced to it by a farmer i used to buy bulk ore from back in cata. best choice i ever made was joining this community. great people here. this guy above me is one of them. buy his shit off the buddystore. its a good investment.
 
Ok so let's take your ooint in consideration that this is a guy who bought all those Starlight Rose to inflate price.

1) My realm is small, no way he could've bought all this in one single day. This amount of roses takes at least a week to buy.
2) Considering he planned this, it means that he spent a week or more buying roses and checking out the prices.
3) Because he planned it all, he knows that there are roses showing up on AH every day for less than what he's been putting them for (roses on my realm usually go for betweem 40-45g, way lower than his).
4) See point 3.

I still think this is a bot. He is most likely not trying to inflate the prices as there are many roses being sold for less. In that case he would've bought all. If he is trying to inflate prices then this is a very stupid way to do so.
 
just because you dont have the willpower/motivation/knowledge to pull this off doesn't mean he was botting. ffs, there are people out there that live for this shit.

in essence what you are doing is coming to the forums and QQing about other botters invading your market. it's how the game is played. step up or step off.

this thread will do nothing to teach others how you would like them to bot. nothing. it is not your place to 'correct' other botters. and if i had to stretch this to show how annoying this shit is, its almost akin to finger pointing on the playground. instead of QQ try to plan how you are going to use what you perceive as a mistake to your advantage.

Who said I'm crying about it? I'm undercutting everyone, I move thousands of Starlight Rose every day and I don't care if it's 60g or 30g, I will always sell cheaper than others. You're clueless. And have an attitude problem.
 
I also see alot of fly hackers bouncing through the sky and it makes me nervous.
 
Aaaaand I was right. The guy is trying to undercut me. Meaning it's not someone who's trying to raise the prices.
 
aaaaand its another auction house technique. if you cant beat em, join em. undercut with hundreds of stacks till your competition can no longer make a profit and they leave the market. THEN, you pickup your 161 stacks that your bought to destroy your competition
and repost higher.

Precisely what i'm currently doing, have 350+ stacks of Herbs that go for far too little gold, sub 10g on Fjarnskaggl, just buying them out and realm transferring and selling on for 3x the amount haha
