The point is if the majority of people are under 64 bit it makes more admin for Blizzard, if you blend in the 200k + honor buddy users with the rest of the world, you will find when a ban wave does occur a shit storm will erupt since you will get x amount of false positives, many people getting accounts back with appeals even though people like you or me were botting so it does have a positive side.

This is my point exactly

Instead of debating 32 bit and 64 bit, clearly we will have 32 bit until the devs decide otherwise, it would be nice that someone with some expertise that could actually go into more detail, elaborate why 64 bit would be a pain to implement other then the fact you upset everyone running on a crappy 32 bit setup?

Because you need also 64bit tools. When I was betatesting Wildbuddy, I saw some pieces from behind the scenes. There are homemade tools, that allow them to develop such thing as HB and also these tools must be rewritten to 64bit. So it is not only rewrite HB, but rewrite many other tools.

Second problem is compatibility. 32bit is pretty much compatible with everything, but achieve that level of compatibility on 64bit is very hard. You say, that you have 64bit compatible processor, but which one? AMD or Intel since AMD procesors use their own instrucitons set that should be compatible with Intel, but sometimes there are some problems. There are some ppl that run HB inside VM... another kind of problem since virtualization is not 100%. Add this kind of compatibility problems into the mix and you now know why is better to stay with 32bit if you dont want write several years on stable 64bit HB
