I woke up this morning with my feral druid hitting a frenzied pteranodax or w/e in the water which it has been doing for about 30 minutes. I received a whisper: "You look like a bot, are you a bot?"
and then 1 minute later:
"Hello?"

So I was lucky that I got stuck on that mob not that long before I woke up and I'm pretty sure that guy reported me for botting.

My question now is, how long should I lay low; take a pause from botting my druid?

You never know if they actually filled out a report form, but it is possible. I'd lay low for a couple weeks, play by hand, maybe add that guy to friends list to see if he's really active, and try and avoid him.

1 report cant lead to a ban, thats my personal opinion
as gimik said do some hand play or pause your bots for a while

thats why i never checking my whispers :p

I hate that fkin mob, its ungoro right ? I have woke up several times with several chars trying to hit that mob in the water. Its always in the water aswell, its like a bot trap or something xD

Just bot while your at your desk and so on. If you get a tell from a GM then you will be there to respond. Or you can just play by hand... What ever you want. And if you do get caught it's only a 72 hour ban norm. for the first offence.

Pretty much this.
When I first started herb botting (botted to lvl80 with HB) on my hunter (I coded my own gathering bot which was very bad in the beginning) it ran against walls for hours and sometimes tried to gather herbs while dead not to mention pick up herbs which were underground for hours. I ran it 24/7 for months, the account never got banned, I'm sure I got reported a few times considering someone talked about me in /1 General aswell. :)

Got that very same problem, stumbled upon it a few times. And now in Hinterlands wtf!.. Bear traps everywhere its an invasion of blizzard against botters :[

Yep gmasters wont bother with one report only.

Problem is when 10+ players report you in pvp bgs.

I ve got 2x72h ban while mixed with hb 2 months ago ...

before that i was a glider user with 200+ reports and NOTHING happend.

+ if you are on the full server you wont get banned even with 20 reports.

Before i became a fellow botter, me and my guild repoted one bot (55 reports in 5 mins) and that bot never got banned :D so that was a reason why i did start with botting.

my suggestion?

put that noob on ignore list.
and bot on ... bot hard.

The past 3 month ive been botting i have never got a single whisper so far. Not even from a gold seller.

Thanks for all the replies and advice!
I decided to continue botting on my mage for a bit instead. Woke up just now and it was also attacking a bugged mob at lvl 76 in grizzly. Is the blacklisting function broken or something?

CC is responsible for evading mobs

dont know what CC your using, but if you havent, update your version of amplify, it just recently got evade detection. the default CC will be updated with it for hopefully the next honorbuddy release.
