These people see the "big picture", and
completely understand botting and how to bot:
People might have got ban while running lazyraider, but what they don't tell you is what the did before that (2-4 days ago) bg, gather, stuck here and there buddy.
I HIGHLY doubt anyone used just lazyraider got ban.
i myself use bgbuddy, gatherbuddy, questing AND lazyraider on 6 different accounts.
No bans yet, if you bot safely you lower the chance to get caught....
It really is /thread. You know the dangers of botting, if you don't want to get banned don't bot. There are a whole heck of a lot more people botting now than ever before, thats why we see more bans.
so far. the only ppl i've seen getting banned are ppl with multiple accounts. most likly running on the same ip. lol. i've had my one accoutn botted since august. and everything ok so far.
Theres probably been bans every day since HB first came out. If Blizzard had some foolproof way to identify botters we'd all be banned. You can't believe they're deliberately only banning a very small proportion of detected bots on a daily basis?
And these people are expressing their (completely 100% absolutely wrong) options and conjecture, as fact:
HB is detected at least in US, not EU for now
questing with kicks profiles got me banned so fast too
(I must admit that the former was such a lie and fear mongering that a mute was seriously considered, but we let it go this time because the user has less than six months botting experience, and didn't know any better. But
Skzisghost, consider yourself warned. Factless fear-mongering is unacceptable in the forums.)
Let's just be clear one more time: HB is NOT detected, and
Kick's profiles do NOT get you banned. There has been no evidence of either of these opinions. All we've seen is a handful people trying to link their carelessness to something they can't prove. To those I ask, "Did you do battlegrounds during that time period?". An honest answer would be something like "Yes, but no more than 12 hours a day".
There are 1000's of threads in the archives about bans and ban theorys. Some of them have
very good information on how to avoid getting banned. There is also this Wiki article that may help:
HB Usage: How do I keep from getting banned? - Buddy Wiki
It all boils down to one of two things:
- You did something exceptionally stupid within the 6-8 week 'ban harvest' window run by Bliz
- You just got unlucky
The activities you were conducting the day of your ban, or the few preceeding days, have absolutely no bearing on why you were banned.
People that get banned are very vocal. For many, its an emotional investment. But, for every person that reports a ban, there are thousands of Honorbuddy users that have
never been banned. These people are quiet, because they don't do anything that will draw attention to themselves/bots. It is this personality trait that makes their choices for how to bot within the game, and it carries over into their forum activities also. If you throw up a forum poll about this, they're not going to answer it--that would draw attention to themselves. There is
much to be learned from such low-key individuals.
We're sorry for any losses you've encountered. Learn from it and move on. You learn by doing research on all the stuff that's already been discussed ad nauseam. If you don't learn, its just going to happen again.
Thread closed, before it completely degenerates into the flame-fest direction its headed.
