Looks like a decent number of people got hit on the 19/06/2013.

To me its pretty clear blizzard was gathering evidence for lets say the last 2 weeks and banned a lot of us on the same time, many on the same hour. It was around 16:00 GMT2.

From what i have been reading from the ban post is again GB2 fault.
I my self lost 3 accounts but my bans most likely were for gold selling with a chinese F****r (see signature), at least that what the email said.
On the forth account i actually got a sort of an "apology" and they restored the account immediately, that says to me that blizzard is banning "on proximity", what i mean is, if something looks fishy to them, ban the crap out of him and if that guy appeals, we will take a look...

Apparently, HB new randomization feature or robotos new method or gatherbro still cant beat the LCP from blizzard.

So, can we still blame it on LCP detection or maybe those tripwire that the devs found have something to do with yesterdays fiasco...

Thoughts?
Dev replies?

EDIT

Just realized, WoW is on sale again.. Coincidence?? I think not....
Two days ago there was a post on the general section, I don't remember by who, saying, WoW is on sale, prepare for a banwave.
Good call mate, who ever you are...

Was banned also. Maybe they are testing new detections things. I dont think it's a banwave.Maybe it's just a little purge during the sales week.

But im pretty confident a big one is coming before 5.4 and Merged AH. A big one.

You call it purge, i call it banwave. Lots of accounts were banned again. And I am 100% sure a shit load of people didn't bother to report them.

I kinda agree with u about the 5.4 comment...

I dont think LCP is the issue. Most of the bans from that day are from people with multiple accounts. blizz tends to ban people who farm on multiple accounts at the same time with the same ip address. the other single account bans were probably from coincidence through player reports.

So you are saying blizzard can track everyone that farms. If thats the case then they know that a single char is gathering on 1 IP running for 8-9 hours, why not ban that also?

Did you trade him by guild bank?

I suggest doing that in future and check my pm I sent you.

hmmz i didnt got hit maybe ur own fault:) if it was a banwave i would be banned to and the rest who use it so it wasnt a banwave.

Were you using Roboto's profiles? What exactly was your gathering setup?

I would still really, really like to know what your botting set up was. You reference GB's new randomization, Gatherbro and Robot's profiles. Were you using a combination of them or switching between them?

Im still not sold on LCP, im running gb2 with an offset of 2 and havent gotten banned. Been going 24/7 for a week now.

Unfortunately expect a ban soon which you cannot overturn i'd put those items/gold in a guild bank and make a non botting account battlechest 5 dollars as guild master.

Personally I haven't seen any bans reported while using Gatherbro.

I've seen plenty for GB2 (In fact its rare it is anything but GB2)

I'm still on the fence about Gatherbro and haven't botted since being banned several months ago but it seems like Gatherbro is safe and GB2 is busted.

Although if anyone has seen a Gatherbro ban please let me know!

I got a ban at the same time yesterday, it was GB2 in Pandaria. Other GB2 Accounts/Trading/Crafting/Main Accounts didn't get banned. People think it's LCP, but this can't be the only thing blizzard is using to find botters. Think about it, if you get the task to catch botters, would you rely on a single method ? I wouldn't.

- Of the 400 hours of first suspicion, how many hours did he spent being active = anything between 100-400 adds to suspicion
- Of those hours, how many did he spent gathering (Time between 2 nodes and under f.e. 3 minutes combined) = 40%+ adds to suspicion
- How consistent is he between Nodes, did he take a break of more than 5/10/15 minutes in the X hours he was farming = adds to suspicion
- Player reports = adds to suspicion
- Interaction with other players way below average = adds to suspicion
- Where are his materials going ? offaccount/auctionhouse = adds to suspicion, same account and crafting = no additional suspicion
- Ofc LCP is playing a role too, and the randomization part of GB2 just got added very recently. There is no way yet to tell if it did "help"
- Finally, how old is the account? Does he participate in either PvP/Raiding/Achievments/xyzActivity ? No = adds to suspicion

My Point is, there are numerous ways of getting detected. We can't say let's fix LCP and we will be fine farming Pandaria again. I won't bother anymore for now, there are other ways of making gold and there is so much less risk of getting banned. and risk of getting banned is easier to take when you didn't pay 20? for MoP expansion :).

If I had a method as accurate as the IEEE claimed that LCP detection was in their paper, I would certainly only rely on one method. I doubt there would ever be a case where LCP would trip a player and LCP wouldn't trip a bot. I'm convinced it's LCP because I was banned back in April and now it's almost July and the only thing I've changed about my botting habit is using random profiles and I'm still alive and kicking.

I am using my own personal method. I can't share information about it but i doubt got i banned cause of that. Like i said, as soon as i traded gold with wtbgold22, i was instantly banned on the accounts that traded with him.
The other accounts are fine.

What i can tell you about my method is that it generates random hotspots every 1 min (or what ever time)...

Roboto is just using a small part of my idea, well not really my idea since he thought of something similar. The guy is smart, i can tell you that :). He went public with it though, i didn't.

Just got a few brand new accounts banned the 19th from using gatherbro only. They were all on separate computers running for about 3 weeks.

So you would go for only this method and never think of people being smart enough to find a workaround ? I tell you this, if blizzard wants, they do and they have as much success as they wish. They could make botting distinct in a matter of days if they really wanted to.
