Skype number for SMS alert ?

I am now on travel out from my country for some month and I can't use my real phone number.
I was thinking if it is possible to use a skype number for the SMS alert and if someone already use it ?

My country is France, if someone have another idea

I just saw that skype number cost too much so my question is a little useless now

Edit: It is good for US number but I am looking for a French number
