Works great for me. Yes the maintenance popup shows but just click ok. Thanks for sharing others though.

fake your gps location, when you spawn in game, find nearest pokestop, open, spin, close, repeat until you get loot from the stop. You are now unbanned and can catch your desired pokemon. Be patient with spinning the stop, takes around 20-40 spins

I use BlueStacks on my computer and can jump to where ever needed. Handy for finding rare Pokemon
