ShopExchangeCurrency errors

trying to use this on the yellow crafter scrip exchanger for Gyr Abanian Alchemic:

ShopExchangeCurrency.CanAfford is always returning 0 for all SpecialShopItem

ShopExchangeCurrency.Purchase causes client to prompt to buy 0 items "Exhcange 0 yellow crafters' scrips for 0 Gyr Abanian alchemics?". If confirmed, will still purchase 1 item, but the method returns 0. If lacking currency, game client errors with exchange failed.
