Alright guys welcome to shane86's profit making with bots 101 class is now in session! Have questions about how to maximize your profit with hb/gb? Ask me anything! Some of the most frequently asked questions I've gotten since becoming a member here and over the years are:

How much do I have to invest to make money botting?
What are the best profiles?
How can I minimize the chances of being caught?

And i'll answer most of them here and you can comment/ask other questions as you feel fit. Please keep all questions in this thread though the mods have enough to do without having to lock/delete topics with the same questions over and over again. And please keep this thread on topic.


[b]Q:How much do I have to invest to make money botting?
A: [/b] Gamecards are between 20 and 30 dollars each. Keys you can find cheap on ebay/mmobay for about $50-70/set. If you were smart you got your sets during blizzards black friday event otherwise id check on ebay for some cheap keys. And usually it takes about a week of your time to quest bot to 80 or 3-4 days to raf bot with instance buddy to 80. So total it's about $200-$220 USD with gb/hb lifetime.


Sometimes you can buy cheap accounts for $50-75 USD per 80 on mmobay/sythe/mc. ALWAYS practice safe trading practices when buying accounts! Which means grab an authenticator and ONLY DEAL WITH REPPED PEOPLE! I REPEAT ONLY DEAL WITH REPPED PEOPLE! More information on how to not get scammed is located here: Safe buying selling and trading. Use these safe trading practices wisely.

I usually recommend having at least two accounts so realistically you'll invest like $250-300 ish USD.


Q:What are the best profiles?

Currently hb is being revamped so I can't recommend hb profiles and I haven't used gatherbuddy in a long time (I use mmomimic silverbolt) so i'll have to update this later.

Q: How can I minimize the chances of being caught?

Use a vpn a good one usually costs money but is well worth it. What a vpn does is cloaks your ip address so that blizzard doesn't know what computer you're logging in from. This is helpful and prevents mass bans.

Another good method is to not bot 24/7 in the same spot. Usually when a player sees that you've been in the same spot for an extended period of time they'll report you which increases your odds of blizzard flagging your account. Which is bad :P Try moving to a different spot and use different profiles.

Q: How much can I make botting?

The sky's the limit but realistically? you can probably make 1kg or $3/hr botting with GOOD profiles. Especially during the first week of cata :).

Q: How do I find private buyers?

but if you absolutely HAVE to sell to a non private buyer sell to pusada who offers $1.7/k atm they offer the most out of any chinese farmer out there.

Sure, but if you're going to bot 24/7 NEVER bot in the same place. Switch up your profiles a bit.

I dunno I like using mmomimic for some reason the only downside I find personally is that its expensive (35 USD/mo) and doesn't offer lifetime subscriptions. I'll probably check out gatherbuddy one of these days and give my opinion.
 
shane86 you should make some guide about finding private gold buyers, which will include all best techniques .. not just like : say to friend that u sell gold, and he will bring them to ya.Or spam in /2 or just go to some site and post a forum thread.I think that's much more in here than this :)
And how to make network of private buyers ^^ those things were never taken into really detailed thing, just few things how to :)
 
Nice guide, but just watch advertising other bots because if I'm not mistaken it's against the forum rules. :)
 
could we keep this on topic please? I got a bad reputation for my gold making guide because I posted that I would charge for it and I did a bad deal with a person on these forums. All of these have been cleared so kindly stfu. I'm giving out information for free and trying to help people.

You're advertising other bots, well done.
You're advertising places to sell too, well done.
You're giving people false information, make 1kg/hr with a good profile on one bot in normal circumstances? (Not talking when cata is released because everyone will make a bomb load of gold peroid) noob's will now get their hopes up.
You're a blatant scammer and advertiser, either for your own "business" in the past or other bots/sites. you always have been. I do not care if you're god and try to help noob's.
 
It's a nice write, but I don't see anything that would make it stand out from other guides or post on forums.

Right and that was cleared up months later. How else would I be unbanned dipshit? Don't you morons think BEFORE you post?
 
there was a post about this whole episode a few weeks ago, he has been unbanned and it was a misunderstanding between the parties involved. I don't have the link for it, you'll have to do a search.
