Hey forum,

Today I got perm-banned but after my ticket Blizz downgraded the suspension to 72 hours and wrote this:

After a careful investigation of your account closure, we have decided to downgrade the action on your account to a 72 hour suspension.
You will be able to log in after this duration has passed.
This action was applied to your account due to use of third party software to exploit the game. More information has already been sent to your email account when the original action was placed on your account.

Should I try to appeal it again or just leave it?

I think you should leave it. You got your account back, don't provoke them into reversing it;)

you can try, but they wount change it - they have their mass banhammer swinging right now with colataral damage and i guess a 0 tolarancy policy. they will just tell you some douchebagshit that they scanned your cpu ram and blablabla - the real reason they wount tell anyone :F

My personal rule of thumb is that if your account is not permanently banned just wait out the suspension.

Mine is appeal, appeal, appeal. However, not been banned on WoW yet. Only other games I've botted... once. Got it down from a perm with no unbanning (Automatic ban) --> unbanned 1 year --> unbanned 6 months --> unbanned 3 months --> unbanned 1 --> unbanned 1 week --> unbanned 1 day --> unbanned all in 1 hour.

Don't appeal, just wait it out, there is a chance they will maybe reinvestigate it and may be banned permanently, and maybe u could lay low for a two-three days after u come online

Leave it and wait. If they reduce your BAN to 72 hours, that means they have sufficient proof that you were exploiting. This doesn't mean that they saw you use the BOT, but they may have caught you stuck or doing something extremely robotic.

When they have no proof at all (like in my case), they lift the ban completely with an apology stating you fell within 'false positives'. Which refers to their flagging system. This also means that there is no record of an exploit and I still have a one time reprieve (confirmed by cool rep on the phone, not ticket information like most of my findings).

Given your BAN was reduced, it was only because they are giving you a second chance (warning). They believe (know) you were BOTting and they WILL permanently BAN you if you are suspected again.

If you appeal they may even further investigate their suspicions and find something additional that will piss them off. Even though they probably would give you a generic e-mail stating that their decision is final, you do not want them to have any more ammunition for another time you are suspected.

Good luck and I hope this helps.

P.S. I know it is hard and I do it sometimes as well. We must not forget that we are actually violating their terms. Whether we come to terms with the reasons we BOT, whatever those reasons are, they are still in violation of the TOS. Sometimes we get so self-richeous and/or just want to play that we start to become overzealous with pride and entitlement. Be respectful and appreciate any help they give you. Also, always act like an idiot.

If you feel it is best to reply to their action, ask them questions instead of asking for it to be lifted (although I do not even recommend this). They will not give you what they discovered or the exact thing that triggered their decision, but it might give insight as to how serious they are about you particular case. Like I said, I wouldn't do this and I can almost guarantee they are confident you exploited.

Again, let me make this clear. Always remember that you actually are... BOTting.
