So, using a slightly tweaked version (for HC) of http://www.diablofans.com/builds/57872-monk-deaths-breath-farming-build-2-3-t6-t8. I'm using Illusory Boots to prevent trash-stucks and Unity for some extra survive (Sage hat to still get the bonus), but the basic build functions the same.

My survivability and DPS are fine. Stuff melts. Only problem is that I can't get the bot to maximize use of the cubed In-Geom to effectively ignore trash and dash to the next elite pack. About half of the time it'll do it properly, but I get a lot of confused trash combat where it seems to be ignoring my Trinity settings and stopping to fight the trash. Relevant settings as follows:

-Ignore trash further away than: 60
-Min trash mob pack size: 15
-Trash pack cluster radius: 5
-Unchecked "extend trash kill range after combat" and "force kill summoners"
-Wait for loot drop delay after kill: 850ms (it still seems to over-prioritize some other objective and dashes away from progress globes and breath drops sometimes...)
-Avoidance settings are mostly unchecked to force the bot to fight through whatever AE

Monk settings:
-Use dashing strike OOC: checked
-Dashing strike delay: 3900

So anyway, like I said, the bot will sometimes appear to be working properly and dash like a madman to the next elite pack, but it's not consistent. Is there some native combat file I need to edit to tweak this to be like "seriously, I'm not kidding, ignore trash unless you're trying to Town Portal"?

As it stands I get roughly 250-300 Breaths/hr, which isn't bad, but I feel like it could be at least 50% more efficient if it was consistent in 1) not dashing away from Breath's after an elite kill, and 2) ignoring trash consistently.

For the first problem you mentioned, try set the delay after kill timer.
It is under Combat -> Misc -> Misc Combat Setting -> Wait for loop drop

Let us know how it does it. If it is still around 200-300, then I'd prob go for barb ww build instead. As it simply melts everything(elite&trash mobs) down the road in T8 rift while farming DB/keys.(260-300db/h)

As I mentioned in my post, I've already changed that. I've experimented with 600-1000ms, and even around 950ms (where I've had it recently), it still happens frequently.

I saw a post recently (and can't find it now) where someone was able to change the item weighting for progress globes to force the bot to go for it first over any other object. I could do the same for DB's... anyone happen to know what file to edit for that?
