Setting Affintiy to 1 core.

Guys Been really looking to keep my PC costs down im doing everything listed on this forum.

but someone has just suggested to use the Affinity Settings in Task Manager and only let honorbuddy run of 1 core instead of using all 6.

same with wow!

does any1 else do this it does noticeably use less CPU.

Feedback please.

It looks like some CPU's support "Core Parking" which completely disables the other cores you choose. This will remove idle power usage and not allow you to use the other cores. I will let you research from here....

It won't really make much difference. The biggest performance saving you can do is..

/console maxfps 30
/console maxfpsbk 15

Set them to whatever you want, but that's what I use. HB ticks at 15 tps by default, so I set it for background sessions to run at the same speed as HB (in theory..). Then foreground you don't need it much over 30/40ish..

Yeah mine are all set to 8... its just honorbuddy rinsing CPU like nobodys business really wish it ran better performance wise anyways.

So ive been reading about it and well ive done some tests only thing is my electricity monitor decided to die recently currently getting a new one of ebay.

however hoping someone can answer this, does using 1 core out of 4 reduce the computers power consumption overall.

my CPU Usage has dropped to around 22% from 40-60%
