Seeking input. How safe is it to use HB nowadays?

Last time I used HB was mid MoP. I only used HB for leveling with Cava & Kicks profiles and leveled about 6 characters to max level. With some rare exceptions, I never used it to farm mats or honor points etc. I also always took aditional measures to stay safe which included: never using the default mounts, always staying near the computer and checking in now and then to make sure my bot wasn't stuck, having all spells & abilities used present on my actionbars etc.

Anyways, WoD is out for a while now and I have a bunch of characters to level and I was thinking of picking up the bot again but I'm pretty hesitant. Blizzard recently perma banned a couple of well known players for violations such as T-morph, minor account sharing and other stuff. To my knowledgde all those bans where permanent. I also remember a post by a HB developer which, if I remember correctly, was writen around the time the new launcher was introduced and stated that they have found a software mechanic that Blizzard introduced which, for the first time or very few times, scared the developers a bit and they didn't exactly know how to handle it at the time (I don't remember the exact context of the post anymore but it was something like that).

Now my question to you community & admins (if you have the time to respond ): how safe is it to use HB nowadays for leveling? And are temporary bans for using the bot still a thing? Or do they always perma ban nowadays?

I've been using it roughly since the end of MOP i've leveled toons and have had no issues. Just dont leave it on 24/7 and make it look suspicious and you're fine.

I've botted 15-60 through dungeons and 90-100 using kicks. I'm now farming BGs. I have done this over the course of about a week and no ban or warning so far. I took about four 30 minute breaks during a 12 hour period.

I have literally botted 24/7 for 6 months straight without a single 1 min break. No freaking joke. I have leveled 11 toons in bg's alone and now trying kicks and I must say kicks is so much faster. I looked at this way. I was like hey if they ban me I'll save 15 bucks a month. And so far they never did. Maybe is just the server that I am on they could care less. Really beats me.

I actually believe this. If you check the ban section 99% of all the bans are botting mop/cata/wotlk dungeons

Is that the fastest way to make gold and that's why people do it?

I am looking to make gold soon and thinking about botted dungeons and I know that's a hot spot and bannable.

But I think there is a plugin to where you can have your character move from different dungeon to different dungeon and bot different dungeons so it does not look like your are botting a single dungeon.

You know what I am talking about?

afaik randomizing dungeons doesn't help a lot. You will get nice gph with dungeon farming but ban will come pretty fast.

Actually, with several toons, unless you are looking to sell gold, it won't be an issue if you just level them to 100 and work your way to a level 2 garrison w/ Level 3 Tavern/Inn, Level 2 War Mill & Salvage Yard. I'm making 2-5k per week per toon with that setup depending on how diligent I am with turning my missions over. Gold isn't really hard to come by so I'm surprised there is any market to sell at all. Ore/Herb prices are in the shitter, with time and patience as I level up followers all my toons will be last dungeon geared roughly for ilevel (640 ilevel warrior who's never raided, done a few heroics and has zero player made items). Really the game is super friendly to multiple toons at max level right now.

As far as the safety of botting, I've been botting heavily on and off (When I play I bot, when I don't duh) since LK using HB. I've had 1 ban in that time, it was when archeology buddy was brand new and still glitchy, and before LogMeOut came along. And honestly I'm don't blame HB for that ban, never even posted it, because I'm pretty sure it was related to this attention whore bitch that was let into the small guild by a friend. My heavily botted toons have their own guild, and my regular play toons are in my friends guild but they only get afk botted on weekends. I've leveled 11 toons to 100, 9 of them 90-100% afk, several from 0-100 since WoD came out. If you use LogMeOut (keeps you from face planting walls and doing glitchy I'm stuck shit for hours, obvious bot stuff) and don't get greedy on the AH or selling gold, your only danger is yourself and the people who are around your toons enough to know that you "aren't always there". My "kids" play, you can ask any one of my friends (they really do), but when my kids are playing my realID conversations don't get answered and that's become modus operandi. Bot smart, and it's rarely a dangerous thing. Want to see stupid botting? Go sit outside HoL on a PvP server and start farming the druids zoning out waiting for instance per hour resets, with names like Xviedry. Really paranoid, get Roboto's Randomizer to randomize hot spots, that's next on my list to buy so I can BG. Nothing screams bot to me like 5 toons running to the EXACT same spot at the beginning of a BG, of course, bots don't give up, so give me bots over idiots any day!

So you think even if you did like 5 different dungeons in completely different areas and had the bot move from dungeon to dungeon you think that will still be flagged? I think that is pretty good and might be pretty undetectable.

I use Millz BG Farmer which is gold. I have leveled 11 1 to 100 toons with it. Not one single problem. Not a single quest and 24/7 bot running with absolutely no breaks. I use it with Tuanha Free routines and its just killer.

I have now switched to Kicks because its twice as fast. But I will use it for sure to level my toons to full pvp gear before I do areans with Gladiater suite.

HB hasn't been available 24/7 for the last 6 months. but thanks for the input.

The only accounts I've had banned have been from Gatherbuddy stuff in MoP. I've seen too many reports of bans from dungeons so I haven't done it (I ran maybe 1-2 loops of the various profiles to get an idea of comparison for gold).

My gold making method is actually levelling characters and selling off the various xmog/leathers/cloth you get from running Kicks.

I run the bot about 12-13 hours a day unattended over several accounts, I've written a python script to randomise when my computer gets turned off once it hits a certain time of day. Basically just trying to emulate what a "real player" might look like. It's not optimised, but it gives me enough gold to make me quite happy.

I think that is what it is. I use a good bit and good routine. It's crazy though.

Now I'm going to bot 24/7 kicks on remaining toons and then bit 24/7 on making gold.

I will just farm greens and blues and spirits or something. Usually make like 100K gold no problem every few weeks. will have no problem at all.

From what I hear though if I start botting dungeons I will have a problem. Probably just skip that.
