New Users: After the patch drops, Buddy Wing will not function until updated. Please be patient. Users can check Buddy Updates for a version number higher than 1.0 r1294 Build 885 to determine if the update is ready.

First off, if you're on Windows 10, you most likely have all the updates already!
So regarding the BW internals update for .NET and Visual C++ 2015 redistributables, i've gathered the following info and links:

How do i check what .Net Framework Version i have installed?

Where can i find the new .Net Framework 4.6.1?
Please visit this official link for the web installer: .Net Framework 4.6.1 web installer
or this link for the offline installer: .Net Framework 4.6.1 offline installer


How do i check what Visual C++ redistributables i have installed?
Go to Programs and settings of windows (the part in windows where you can see all programs installed and uninstall them), and search for Microsoft Visual C++ 20XX Redistributable (Where XX is the year).
If you have 2015 and / or 2015 Update 1, you're set and don't need any updating!


Where can i find the new Visual C++ 2015 redistributables?
Please visit this official link for the installer: Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015
When pressing download, you'll need to choose between the vc_redist.x64.exe or the vc_redist.x86.exe. Grab vc_redist.x86.exe
Now we need Visual C++ 2015 Update 1: Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015
Again when pressing download, you'll need to choose between the vc_redist.x64.exe or the vc_redist.x86.exe. Grab vc_redist.x86.exe

Now reboot your pc and all should be good. If not post a reply.

The above links are correct - .NET 4.6.1 is required for the next update, as well as the Visual C++ redistributables. Make sure to install both the Visual C++ 2015 and the Visual Studio C++ 2015 Update 1, in that order. We'll also update the buddy wizard later today to include these.

If you encounter issues after the updates please do the following:

  1. Remove all Microsoft Visuall C++ redistributables from 2005 to 2015
  2. Restart your pc,
  3. Download the installationwizard http://updates.buddyauth.com/BuddyWizard.zip
  4. Run BuddyWizard as administrator.
  5. After the wizard installation is done, run windows update. And install all updates for .net & c++
  6. Restart
 
We just released the update for 4.2. If there are any problems, let me know. :)

"Buddwing stopped working" as soon as i launch it :(

Im running windows 10 and have everything installed but when I launch buddywing it immediately crashes.
 
We hear you, looking into it right now.

Edit: Tracked down the cause of the crash, working on a fix for it as we speak.

Alright we've just released another update that should fix the crash on start up. Sorry for the inconvenience, and as usual, let me know if it still doesn't work for you.
