SBR got hit with massive ban

hey guys

see a lot of reports coming in but yeah it ain't hb its due to soap*** rotations
just adding my 2 cents in those forums going off right now. do not use it.

Confirmed,
SBR was just hit, I believe it was detected because I was just sitting still afk with it loaded but off and still was banned.
 
yeah, someone got the log off an blizzard chat rep
they posted the link to the site claiming that was it
that was taken from a member on their forums

you need to be a paying customer
it is not like hb mate where everything is in the open

you can online see reviews and pre-sale questions
someone else just posted in the forums someone talked to blizzard person on phone, apparently he was caught up in may banwave and said he was not using honorbuddy and the sale rep said it wasn't hb that was detected it was soapbox.
hb too many people saying same thing so looks like hb is safe as always.
 
I've never heard of soapbox until you posted about and I don't let the bot run 24/7. Almost made it 2 weeks before ban. Was banned tonight using HB only.
 
I just got hit with the SBR ban on my account. The Blizz support rep was pretty cool and told me the ban was not for the "same technology" as my previous suspension. This account got caught in the last HB ban wave in May.

I was only raiding and doing heroics with this account, no PvP or other use of HB.
 
if you look at the ban reports, most say they used Soapbox as well. On the SBR forums, people who have used nothing but SBR were banned.

I have 9 accounts, the only one that was banned tonight, i had used SBR in the past 2 weeks.

I can confirm. Banned and only ever used SBR on this account since almost a full year...

Where are the people talking about how 64 bit is safer than 32 bit?
 
Yes well i got my account back from May Ban last month and have used the 1-99 sbr x64 only and i got banned today tbh thats it for me now i was bored with the game anyway and blizz is just not playing fair anymore banning all the bots lol

i used the saobox leveling free CRs before meh 4 days and iam not banned is this something with warden detection or what
 
I recall some claims from the Soapbox Rotations guy here in the HB forums about how his product was undetectable.

Used it for the first time ever a couple weeks ago. I was more than a little concerned as it loads it self into the client via extensive lua code as well as macros.

I suspect it was the lua code and/or the saved macros that were detected.


I pretty much stopped using it after the first try. I did not remove the macros and i suspect that is what was detected and led to the ban.
 
SBR is similar to PQR and even more similar to the current PQR replacement PE with a lua unlocker. It injects lua. It is very different from HB and does not have anything like a tripwire or warden monitoring.

Blizz could always detect lua injection and most of the lua unlockers. For whatever reason they just don't bother very often, like PQR was allowed to exist for ages.


The only thing keeping SBR going is that it was very obscure. charged insane fees, few customers, pve only. Now it lowered prices and got a ton of 6-month banned HB users, and popped up on blizzard's radar.

By the way this ban, as always, has nothing to do with if you were using the program at the time of the ban. they collect ban data over long periods, and send them out all at once.

I thought the macros was pretty silly, kind of like the chat messages that got Pirox banned.

Interesting aside, I've used SBR extensively and am NOT banned. I did have two macros, but all my setting including macros are not server-side (SET synchronizeConfig "0", etc)
