Saw an interesting post on wow forums.

Dear blizz,

The abundant amount of bot players using bot software like dungeon buddy is ruining my fun in heroic dungeons and norm scenario's, please do something about this as it is now beyond a joke,you tell me you are gathering info so as to ban a whole bunch of accounts at once but i feel by that time majority of them will have farmed their 100's of thousands of gold and have no use for these accounts and therefore banning them would indeed be a frivolous exercise.


Hmm, the part about gathering info as to ban a whole bunch.
That's the part i thought was interesting, makes me wonder if this person opened a ticket and didn't get instant results so made a post to whine about what the Gm told him.

The other part i found interesting is this post was made 2 or 3 days after the tripwire event.

Kind of makes me nervous with the patch and expac coming out, also makes me wonder if they are gathering info for a huge wave.
I know conspiracy theories are amuck around here, its always the little things that bother me more then the big things.
Probably need to adjust the coat hangers on my tinfoil hat.



P.S. Has anyone heard any news on the tripwire event, its seems like all the original posts where edited and now just buried like it didn't happen and haven't seen an official response as to what happened ?

I don't know why they are ruining his fun, from my experience, DB runs very well in dungeons, I'd say that it's better to have a bot that knows what it's doing than a clueless person that doesn't!

I would be concerned as to whether or not this is an ex HB user. He pointed out the use of DungeonBuddy by name. Sure, a little Googling can turn up instant results, but still, it makes me wonder. Perhaps a jaded ex HB user turning against us and selling our secrets to Blizzard to have a ban lifted? lol

Edit: If they are, in fact, collecting informations to perform a massive banwave, then we're probably all screwed anyway. But, I have faith in HB and not being detected, so I'll just cross that fence when I get to it. After all, if the account I bot on gets banned, I'm finished with WoW anyway. No way on God's green Earth am I starting all over again.

that makes no sense... if blizz knows you're botting they're gonna ban you... just like they do almost every week... waiting makes absolutley no sense.

It's safe to assume that Blizzard is watching these forums and everything similar across the Internet ( bot wise forums and programms ). I believe Blizz is tracking down all the popular routes / profiles etc and that helps them even more track bots down. It all comes to how effectively you bot.

The whole gathering information thing is a generic line, they are basically saying they are adding botters to a list that will get banned once they have enough to make it seem like a proper targeted attack.
