What's the safest way to bot? (your personal opinion)

And with or without plugins

1. Questing?
2. Grinding?
3. PvP (Safest BG?)
4. Other?

And please take your time to explain Why/How :)

First toon I botted was a warrior back in Feb. I would grab quest and then just grind and complete the quest. If I couldn't find a good profile I made one and used it.
Second toon is a warlock I did a combination of questing(beta) and grinding, currently 74 (on hold)
Third is a shaman, first 40 levels was grinding, last 40 was questing and grinding.
Fourth is my druid which is 54 and I have done all grinding so far on her.

I don't pvp using the bot. It seems too unpredictable and people seem to know when a bot is being used.

I have a home office where I work from most of the time. I set up my bot or bots on one computer and work off the other keeping an eye on the bots in case there is a problem. Obviously, no bot is safe and we know a bot is a means of leveling without babysittng, but I don't want to level a toon only to have it banned and have to start over. My usual bot hours are 8am-10pm give or take an hour. I change zones often, post auctions daily, use lootfilter to discard trash and use trade chat to sell mats.

All you do there takes way more time than manually leveling
 
How do you figure that? I'm still within 10-14 from 1-80, including leveling professions. My purpose in using a bot is so I can multitask other projects, not to be a gold or account seller.

The first charachter I botted with Honorbuddy was my Shaman, grinded it from 1-80! Then I was using my Gatherbuddy too farm Herb/mining +lvl it up 1-450.

Now im on my second char a Paladin, Questing 1-15~ but it had too many buggs.. So I went 1-60 Eastern insteed, worked fine but low EXP/H grinding. So I changed to to one I used while lvling the shaman, and it works fine but I've tried PvP AB now for about 3 days (14h'aday~) went from 44-59. 61 AB's done with 60%~ winn! That have also got me 33k Honor, but the downside of this is that my Skinning and Mining aint getting up in BG's.

BG's are faster if its weekly but more risky I think, but noone have ever whispered me under these 3 days and 11 levels so its still quiet safe!
 
I would say the safest way is the wy that looks most human.
So questing for max 10hrs/day whiloe babysitting the bot with pauses between and doing some occasional bgs.
 
Use the eSafe plugin!!
This plugin (version 1.5 or higher) will automatically hearth you to your inn and resume botting if you are stuck or if someone has been following you for more than a set period of time in the game. It can also be configured to close down WoW if the hearthstone is unavailable due to cooldown. **THIS PLUGIN IS A MUST-HAVE!**

Going to try this when I get home. But doesnt ppl get 72h susp. when there is a player reporting?
 
the "safest" way to bot is sitting next to your pc so you can react on whispers/gms/buggy situatinos. This weekend I botted my rouge and hunter with PVP. On sunday morning I was lucky to read the message in BGchannel when I came back from breakfast: "Hey guys don`t you think XXX is a botter?"
Surely I asked in channel why he thinks I?m a botter, and started a little conversation... after some minutes he whispert me, that he wanted to tell the GM and just because of my answer in the BGchannel he didn?t.
 
I think PvP botting is kinda safe :-))
But maybe 30 hours a'week!~
 
There is often many buggs in Questing.. Thats why i dont like it, dont want to babysit the bot :/
 
If questing worked flawlessly then that would probably be best but I've always preferred just grinding. The main things to watch out for are whispers and people following your bot. If you are by the computer you can just install prat (chat mod) and configure it to play a sound on whisper.
 
But ofc I want to know wich way to bot is the safest way in your PO. :)
 
I think the safest way to bot is grinding and IB'ing with a good CC. :) and grinding in a quiet place where ppl normally dont farm :)
 
Wow, necro.

Whilst this thread is back I decided to vote Other.

People fall into the illusion of thinking certain ways are safer than others when in actual fact the user determines how safe their botting experience is regardless of what method you use. I am testament to what I preach, just hit 26 accounts all using both HB and GB and I have only ever had one suspension and that was due to a problem caused by me.
