Safe Gold Selling Question

So, plenty of resources regarding how to sell gold exist already, I realize this. There is one question that remains (as far as I've seen) unanswered for the most part and I'm very curious to know the answer.

Each day I make more and more gold and I need to scrape some cash together for a new laptop, so my mind immediately jumped to selling some of my gold. The problem here is that I am deceptively young and do not yet possess a paypal account of my own. It is due to this that chargebacks are a serious concern for me. I am required to use my father's paypal account and he does not quite understand the concept of chargebacks and thinks that they are a full blown fraud investigation and that the police will show up.

So my question is, how do you folks go about avoiding chargebacks? Is there a way, or is it merely a look for people you think are trustworthy and take the risk sort of situation. I would much prefer avoiding them altogether if at all possible. I could of course sell to companies I know to be trustworthy, problem being companies offer terrible prices whereas private buyers offer great prices, but can't always be trusted.

Anyway, any assistance would be greatly appreciated :)

Not sure how its working now as its been while since I used paypal for anything game related, but back in the day used to have the people paying you send the $ as a gift (not for goods) through paypal so they couldnt charge it back.

This is the way I would do it. Unfortunately that way they can't chargeback via paypal but are still able to through their credit card provider. Thinking about it now I really think there's no way around it, just a risk I'm gonna have to take if I want to sell gold I s'pose.

Thanks for the response :)

When I first sold gold (for approx 140 USD) I didn't know it was possible to scam people by claiming uanuthorized transaction. Still, I had made a dummy account since I had heard Blizz had just started cooperating with PayPal to catch gold sellers. As soon as I got the money on the dummy account I transfered it to my real PayPal account. The next day I learned of the fraud, and the money had been withdrawn from the dummy account, which already was in 0, and went into minus. The money was never withdrawn from my real account, so the loss was on PayPal. I used the same IP and same computer for both the PayPal accounts, and only my real one was verified. The next time I'd sell gold I wouldn't risk using the same computer and IP though. The dummy PayPal account was closed down after half a year and a dozen of e-mails form PayPal to put the account back into 0 again.

TLDR: Use an intermediate PayPal account on a different computer and IP adress to receive the gold from the buyer. If possible buy a prepaid VISA gift card that you can use to verify the account with.
