Running Honorbuddy on a VM necessary?

Hey guys,

was wondering if running Honorbuddy on a VM is a good idea. I'd like to play my main account while my alt account is botting. Do I need a VM for this or can I just open 2x WoWs on the same PC (would this be risky over using a VM instead)?

A VM isn't necessary, but I would recommend against playing an account you don't want to lose on a machine that you also bot on. I have been caught in the past, and lost both but I was playing manually on one account while the bot was running on a second account.

My personal setup is no more than 3 bots per machine, and no bots on the computer that I run my accounts I care about. Other people have never had an issue, but the last several bans I have received in my opinion were due to 5 or more bots running on the machine at a time.

Since a VM is a completely different "machine", this would be my solution. I don't have any other PC but the one I'm on right now.

That's the catch though, its a separate install of windows, but the hardware id's are the same. I haven't had any issues with bans on non-bot accounts provided I am not botting and playing manually at the same time. That said, I have been lucky enough to miss the major ban waves of the last two years. My bans were related to an active scan of my machine and all accounts online at that time got banned. I worry about that one more than the massive bans, because the massive bans are going to get you eventually anyway.

Would it be better to just never play on the main account AND the bot account at the same time then?
