Hey guys

Could someone enlighten me in how the rotation would be for leveling with discipline?

So far the rotation i've set up is:

Holy Fire whenever ready
Mind blast (when under level 20)
Smite spam

What about Penance, is that worth using as a dps spell?

Hey, this post concerns me in that I am currently leveling a disc priest. I'm using Singular, as Apoc (I think. I can't remember.) suggested in the Singular thread when I was frustrated with how fast my shadowpriest was burning through mana. It was suggested that disc gets just as much dps, less downtime healing due to penance/smite healing while dpsing, and less mana consumption. I switched, and I like it. I just notice that it only uses a single handfull of spells. Holy Fire, Smite, Penance, Evang/AA (I can't remember which one gets used of those two, but you get it on the second or third tier of the talent tree). I've never seen it use Mind Blast, or any other DPS spell that is currently held in the spell book, at any level.

I'm sorry if my post seems jumpy, out of order, or doesn't make sense. I'm battling a severe migraine and am having trouble focusing my thoughts into a cohesive manner.

Best thing to do to get some sort of idea is check out the discipline.cs and/or common.cs in Singular to get an idea. It may help out, it may not.

disc dps is always low and you shouldn't really need to level as it... as it's sooooooo slow

just go shadow until 85 and get a disc spec

Pretty much this, sometimes I go offspec disc to go as Healer but pretty much Shadow until 85.

I actually prefer leveling as disc. I don't know why, but I do. Shadow kept making me die, and my mana was constantly running out, but as disc I stay alive a lot longer and my mana lasts probably four times as long. Just my own personal view.

I see and hear about more people going disc for levelling and while I appreciate the comments about going shadow, its not really what I asked.for.
Reason I'm asking is that I am tampering with making a full cc, not just a lazyraider CC, to keep learning more; and I have chosen discipline due to the fact that I've had serious mana issues for many levels as Shadow in the past

^^Exactly this. Shadow is good at 85 when your mana regen is decent, but before that it's sort of harsh having to buy tons of mana drinks/pots/foods because priests don't get a table like mages do, so whatever spec will save on money and mana is fine by me, lol.

Your are going to have some disc mana problems until your get Rapture. Once you have that, you should be fine. Are you doing dungeons? If you are just questing, a Holy Fire/Smite rotation is fine. Keep yourself shielded also. If you are healing, dont use HF/Smite unless you need to heal. Also, don't use penance as a dps spell. Disc is a little rough on mana until you get a little higher up. The spells just aren't there at low levels.

Discipline

Single Target:
HF > Penance > Smite, repeat, until Penance becomes too weak as an offensive spell.
Even after you get Mind Spike at 81, I would suggest sticking to HF+Smite because of their increased efficiency through Evangelism.
YES, Evangelism should be considered mandatory while leveling. If you really, truly despise it you can do without, but your efficiency and speed while will drop significantly.
AoE:
Doesn't exist until you get Holy Nova at 62, and isn't that great until you get Mind Sear at 74. Once you have one or the other, and know you can sustain the mana cost (or have time to drink after), you can spam them to your hearts content on groups larger than 3.
If you have Glyph of Spirit Tap, use SW:Death to kill mobs in order to gain the regen buff.
