I got 3 accounts on my b.net account. So my main acc got banned in May's banwave. I quit WoW after that for a while and after 5 months close to getting my acc back I decided to come back using 1 of the other accounts. I got WOD and just made a 90 rogue got it to 100. I then geared it up a bit and decided I would just bot it to get gold before my main acc's time is up. So I was skinning in nagrand and it seemed to be working fine as I made probably 45k in about only a few days (like 3 days). I got it in windowed mode so I was reading something on the forums in my browser which covered my game obviously. When I alt-tabbed my bags were nearing full, so I alt-tabbed back into game after a few minutes. This is where the story gets kinda funny even though I got banned. So the bot was spamming burst of speed over and over again so I was like WTF and looked around and I was stuck in these rocks in a cave with a targeted 1.2mil mob. I hit my map keybind and saw I was somehow in Tanaan Jungle. I then thought wow how the hell did I manage to travel to tanaan when my bot doesn't even use flight paths and my Hearth is in Pandaria....I hit the spacebar and pulled the mob, and realized I pulled a lot so I was gunna die so I stopped my bot, and vanished. Now stealth sprinting out of the cave I hit my map again so see if I could get to a town, but I was like damn i'm gunna just hearth since I was far away from 1. As soon I was about to click by garrison hearthstone I got disconnected. I didn't even both to attempt to login because I knew at that point a GM teleported my character to a place where it would get stuck and spam burst of speed. I checked the acc in the b.net launcher and it said it was suspended. The email said it was perm pretty much.
Anyway despite the GM actually teleporting my character somewhere to test if it was a bot that I thought was kinda funny i'm a little bit curious on how they even detected my character.
-No one knew I was botting I.E friends, guildies, ect.
-In fact I monitored the bot pretty regularly only alt+tabbing in every 5ish mins or so to see what I found.
-I also checked the /who Nagrand list and literally there were like 12-20 people in the zone at all times.
-I only saw 2 people run passed my character on their mounts in 3 days.
-I stopped the bot and personally controlled it for some time to make it look more human.
-I only ran it when I was able to monitor it (when I was at the computer it was running on).
-It only ran for a total of 18-22 hours over 96-100 hours... which is approximately 20% of the day. (1/5th).
So if I didn't get reported then why did my character out of thousands get specifically looked at?
I really wish Honorbuddy was safe like it was back in the day. Somehow Blizz has an upper-hand over us apparently. I thought since many people getting hit by BGs, and Dungeons I would be fine in a zone that's rarely used to bot anymore. Every1 usually goes to tanaan. Not to mention my friend also has been botting since August non-stop on a character that's on a separate account and never even got banned once...
