Rift Buddy Curiosity

I know that the project was cancelled, and I read in another thread that it was because you couldn't really make money with Rift anymore and that they killed their own game.

Out of curiosity, what lead to that statement? I played Rift when it first came out and have always botted as a means to skip the shitty parts of MMOs rather than to make money, so I've never understood everything about what it takes to make money with an MMO.

With the new free-to-play model, is there any chance of the bot making a comeback, or would I be better off looking elsewhere for one for the game? I remembered it being on here, looking for it, and coming across all the threads about how it was cancelled and such. I was really looking forward to using it however.

I'm sorry if this is an annoyance, but I couldn't find a satisfactory answer by searching the forums to these questions. Everything so far has just been: "The bot is cancelled."

I believe it was down to Trion actually having a good way of cheat detecting. This lead to nearly everyone getting banned and the project was dropped I guess.

i would love a rift buddy also but not gonna happen . now or in the future. tony responded to a thread like this. bossland is a business it is their decision
problem is there is no rift bot outthere which kinda makes me suspicious as to why people avoid making a bot for rift (because there are much crappier games out there which have bots) . i know a somewhat competitor to buddy bots who recently has cancelled their rift bot also - which makes me think if rift isn't doing something intentionally to sabotage bots ( like a lot more than blizzard does ) but if they are they are killing themselves
from what i understood also rift updates very often which makes it hard to work and update the bot

other then that i have no idea

basically your options are either wow or wait till the next mmo that u like with a bot available. or a game which does not require a bot (but from my gaming experience i've never seen a game not to require a bot )

i feel your pain tho as i would like to be able to play rift also
