Hi all.

I haven't used Honorbuddy or played WoW since the end of MoP and took a much deserved break. Hope everyone is well!

I was wondering how the bot scene is at the moment for detection and banning? I do remember seeing news there was a bit of a tackle on the community in WoD. I botted on multiple characters, but mostly used combat routines during raiding, so was never really at high risk of being banned and always around if I was running scripts. Is this still safe? Has the bot client detection got better? Is it worth the risk to come back?

Also, is there any good feral druid combat routines anymore? It seems Superbad has disappeared and also Mirabis who did resto. Has TuanHA filled this void with his routines?

Thanks for your help.

It is never "safe" so to say, but I have been (very weakly) botting since 2009 and have yet to get banned once. It is all about managing your profiles so you are not running the same thing every other person is, and spacing out when your bot is on (2 hours here and there, instead of 6 straight)

Most Bans are people who are botting in PvP, not CR, just straight AFK bot. They just get reported enough to be flagged and then burn, banned. (they still wonder why they got banned though and think HB was caught, derp).

Nope. People have gotten banned doing everything imaginable. Someone claiming to not have gotten banned doing one thing got someone else banned. I got banned using a CR only ... was never away from the computer ... and never did anything questionable and was still banned. People have all the conspiracies and theories in the world, but they aren't rooted in facts. You run a risk using a bot, no matter what you do. The HB team does their best to test and prevent their users from getting banned but they're not perfect. The only way to be truly on top of it is if a developer directly involved in bot detection became a double agent and started working for HB, giving them all the ways to circumvent the bot detection system set in place by Blizzard.

Hence 90%.

Edit: could have sworn i put 90% in there at the start. Apparently not.

You did not, but it's all good. I've just read so many people talking about their super awesome advice to not get banned and literally tons of people have been banned doing exactly what they said. Nothing against you or anything.

Tuanha's Druid CR not bad. For Resto its working well. But for feral its need some tweaks i guess.

Obviously when there's a banwave, it's not like all those who were using the bot used the same methods of farming, but actually the injection method itself (which you as a user don't have a way to change) gets detected, so everyone who used the bot in that period of time gets banned or at least flagged for the next wave. Obviously, Blizzard doesn't want to ban all the hackers at once to confuse the botting community even more.

Thanks for comments so far. I'm intelligent to know how to reduce my ban chances, was just wondering if they're detection of the bot hooking to the client for packet injection had improved - as I heard about that massive ban-wave. I will just go ahead. I'm only planning to play casual again for the time being. I had quite an intensive raid schedule before I quit, so I wouldn't feel much loss about getting a ban now as I effectively saw my character as dead since MoP. I just keep having curiosities about playing again, so this is probably one of the instances where I go in have a look around and maybe leave again.

Thanks for comments, see you around.
