I have tried to set my Archaeology Buddy to only look for/solve the things for the Vial of the Sands pattern, but he doesn't seem to do it rite. Maybe I'm just doing something wrong, but is there a way to set up so he will only get the things needed for the Canopic Jars? And it would be nice if he would open the jars and stop farming once he got the pattern :)

I'm not 100% sure how you get these Canopic Jars, but here is what WoWHead says:
Canopic Jar - Item - World of Warcraft

Something about Tol'vir Fragments and Tol'vir Hieroglyphics.

I have the bot set to do only Tol'vir Fragments but I don't see anything stating "Canopic Jars" anywhere.

Please respond & thanks a ton in advance,

Icymassacre

*EDIT*
Just got one Canopic Jar rite after I post this (after like an hour of Tol'Vir Fragments). Didn't get recipe but atleast I know this is gonna work, BUT heres another question, will my bot vendor these jars if bags get full?

Canopic Jar is a Restored Artifact of Tol'vir, as far as I know ^^

I don't think you understand Archaeology very well :p

Let's take EK for example.

You have (I think it is) 6 "Digsites" at anyone time. Now, these can be spread all over EK (Sometimes you might get 3 in one area)

For Tol'vir fragments, they need to be farmed from Uldum digsites, so if you have no digsites there the bot cannot survey there.

What the bot will need to do, is clear the other areas so digsites "spawn" in other areas (Hopefully 1 or 2 in Uldum) it will then repeat this each time.

So there is no way to have the bot (Or by hand) just farm "only" Tol'vir fragments.

*EDIT*

Also the Jar is a random drop form solves (Like rares)

Also getting the Jar is only half the problem, just because you managed to get one, does not mean you have it inside ;)

Ahh I see =\ Oh well, thanks for the info, I will see what I can do. Just trying to get more info on this and that helps alot, cause I would have been angry if he just stopped solving and I didn't know that lol

you just need to do to a lot of archaeology.
jars are quite rare. and it only drops from jars when opened by an alchemist, and seems to be about a 10% chance for that.

the jars are white, instead of the normal grey items. so i dont think the bot will sell them.

also, imo, setting archbuddy to only do uldum will make it less effective.
this means that as soon as there is a dig site there it will fly all the way down wasting precious time, when there was probably a digsite only 30 seconds away.
instead, do that closer digsite and you've got a (pretty good) chance youll end up with 2 x uldum digsites now.

This is wrong any character can get the drop and whether your an alchemist or not, the drop chance is not affected

This mod can't be done, because:
1- Archeology locations are random areas on the continent, sometimes for Tol'Vir sometimes not. Them (ramdomly) changes after completion.
2- After completing an artifact you can not choose what to build next, also if u have the lucky to go on on Tol'Vir area, so you can only hope it wants you to craft a Canopic Jar next.

SOLUTION- You can simply blacklist the canopic-jar for auto-selling and than hope to manually open it (if the time crafted some for you) and find the recipe.
It's really rare =P

Id try tidybags to open canoptic jars and hearthomatic to reduce travelingtime as well as switch solving projects on.

This is wrong. You can only loot the recipe if you're an alchemist. Blizz made a post saying that to clear up some misconceptions.

It's a very rare pattern to get. On my realm, the ones that have it, are selling it for anywhere from 45k to 60k. The mats for it are also pretty pricey. I'd like to have it on one of my toons, but I don't have the time to invest in solid farming for it. I'm trying to gear out nine level 85s for raiding, which takes up most of my time. I'm a poor bastard that can only afford one account per month, so that sort of hurts me. Anyway, my digression isn't needed. Let's just say that that pattern is very rare and very expensive. If you get it, grats to you, and hopefully you make shit-tons of money from it. I know my math is severely off, but just guessing, I'd say it's less than a 1% chance of getting it, so you'd have to farm for a good long while unless Blizzard likes you and gives you a good RNG. They hate me severely. I win 1 in 20 loot/DE rolls, and I haven't gotten any dropped pets/mounts.
