Reducing WoW memory usage

Back in Mists, WoW was using around 600MB of RAM with the right settings, nowadays it's 1GB. Are there any currently working macros or scripts that can reduce it?

I'm running lowest settings at 640x480 resolution.

I don't think the video resolution will affect how much RAM you use. Try the texture quality, draw distance and such. It might help you free a few megabytes of RAM, but IMO, 1GB , by today's standards is quite low.

Yup, was hoping to bring it a little lower. A computer with 8GB RAM cam comfortably run five WoWs with HB, would be great to squeeze in sixth.

Hey!

In vanilla there was a way to lower the graphics even more than it was in settings by making a shortcut copy of Wow.exe and rightclick the shortcut and in "Target" add the line -console, for example: "C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\WoW.exe" -console. Once ingame paste this script /script SetConsoleKey("F7"); it will make it so that you can open console ingame with F6.

There is hundreds and hundreds of commands to type in to affect the graphics, google a list.. If you can't find any list I'll PM one.. Gl with lowering the disk usage! :) // Simhak

Are you sure you are using low settings? Those are on 800x600 lowest settings, just leveling. In instances its always under 200mb

Instead of asking unnecessary questions why dont you just share your config.wtf?

have you tried setting RenderScale to a very low value? /console RenderScale 0.01

Haven't examined connection between renderscale an memory but it will increase fps a lot on low level computers or multiple WoW instances.

Check my forum tag (dungeonbuddy) for the top macros and config.wtf file to reduce cpu and ram usage.

Task Manager shows only 200mb for WoW because the rest of the memory used by WoW is in "system and compressed memory".

Let Me Google That
Sure, but with 16GB ram im still able to run 30 bots, so it's about 350-450 mb each wow. Still lower than 1GB that OP said. Just low settings, 20 fps capped and CleanMem to optimize memory usage

Please share us with your config.wtf file. Could you post it on here?
Also have 16GB but one wow takes 1GB.

How about lowering CPU usage? I have 32 gigs of ram and i5-4690k - But when i run 9 bots im on about 95% CPU usage and 50-60% ram...
