If you check out here you'll see a recent explosion of hate towards people who are once again using bots for PvP. It even garnered a few posts from Lore. I'm getting kind of worried as with this much community outroar from botting, not the usual "fuck them" here and there, maybe something might happen. This also rehashes the age old question of whether honorbuddy should be restricted to non PvP things. Any thoughts on all of this? Seems pretty crazy along with several highly upvoted (now deleted due to witch hunting) posts on reddit.

It was more about instant lock dots and kick botting. If you have a bot that INSTANT KICKS especially a 5 stack maelstrom then you deserve to be banned. A lot of combat routines won't kick instantly but if you go over to the "other forum" theres a free kick bot that does it INSTANT which is stupid.

Mm, I don't see how Honorbuddy bots could ever get into competitive rating ranges; say top 100. Rarely even above 2.2 I would say.

Uh.. I hit 2500 with Gladiator Suite... the problem with you and 95% of everyone on here thinks the bot should play 100% for you...

... and the problem with people like you is that you think 2500 is competetive rating range. I did say rarely above 2.2k, did I not? Go fetch some reading comprehension skills before you attempt to insult someone :)

Well this instant kicking kinda removes one of the hardest things to do in pvp which is fake casting and fast kicking. Both are pointless if a bot kicks because obviously you cant fake cast because even that will get kicked. And you don't need lightning reflexes because a computer will always be faster at a menial task.

And as always, if you can't beat them - join them. So pvp is mainly about just rotation, movement and coordination. The kicks are just noise that exist.

we all use the bot whether or not it's pvp or pve so stop the friken inter wow bitching. Simple fact is we all bot.

its not just honorbuddy being used in pvp as well, people started using other stuff a lot more after the banwave. even people using free kickbot addons, but because honorbuddy is the biggest target that is what everyone immediately thinks it must be

Lol because most people in wow these days ***** in some form or another. Look at flying hacks, wall hacks, no clip hacks, kick bots, scripts and routines, questing bots, farming bots, AH bots, profession bots. Wow can now be 100% automated, its not just one form of hacking that's causing the attention, its all of it combined.

I disagree, botting in a competitive environment like PvP is what brings a lot of attention to botting. Lots of people are aware of bots and can easily tell that someone is botting when questing or performing other tasks that don't affect them. They usually won't go through the trouble of reporting people for this behavior. If you cost someone rating in arena or kill them repeatedly in a BG because you are botting then they will report you, and they will go to the forums and other places to talk about it.

I don't see threads on a daily basis about people running fishing or quest bots, but I do see threads daily about bots in PvP. To say that botting has a bad reputation because of quest or fish bots is just stupid.

^^
This. It is no secret that Bossland discourages Arena & BGs for botting. There are reasons for it.

As far as I know, most HB CR won't instant kick. The epidemic is being caused by free kick scripts.

However, the lock dots could be a HB CR. I'm not entirely sure. Anyways, I do see a ban wave coming again because of all this outrage so I suggest a lot of people stay low for a month or two if you value your account.
I however, don't care. So I will continue botting until I get banned. If they ban me, it means Blizzard are doing something right.

Huge edit
Looks like we're on blast kek

Correct and he should have let it out. Bringing it in the bot again was a mistake I think.

I came here to make a post about this exact subject, I think you summed it up very well. I limit my botting to leveling and some Garrison work.

PvP is a different story, Random BG's are one thing... but in rated arena and RBG's people are simply not going to ignore a kick bot.

I know the argument is "We all bot here, so we all *****"

But I think the argument on out side is "Botting in competitive PvP puts a massive spotlight on Honorbuddy"

I don't know about you guys, but I want to fly under the radar as much as possible.

Do you think that if pvp crs were disabled again, the public would just say "ah its fine guys, its not hb" when other free and readily available kickbots/crs are still plaguing arena and bgs?

Whatever is out there, hb will get the blame for, it makes no difference if they disable it here or not.

Botting any pvp has always created buzz in the wow community. This is nothing new and has been going on since botting started. There's no more talk about it now than there has been in the past. 1-2 posts across several forums is pretty much the norm.

The big dogs always get blamed for being the cause of the issue, but in cases like this, the blame can't entirely go to HB. Although CR's can be set to instant kick, every CR I've seen come with default settings to not do this. If the user decides to change those settings, it's their fault, not the bots when they get caught.
