Just download _NPCScan from curse.com, it will beep and do like an achievement thingy, to let you know it's there, Also get _NPCScan_Overlay, which will show you the path of the rare beast.

Can never get the hot key working with this to target the mob when you find it, needs to integrate with TomTom or something

You can click the Achievement box when it pop's up if the rare beast is still within range it will target. Can also be lazy and create a macro once you see it pop up, click the macro

Can u be in other programs besides wow to hear the beep from gatherbuddy,

I use npcscan add on while flying around herbing using Tony's lost proto drake. Makes a nice annoying sound when you get close to a rare

if its not there, its on wowinterface

If you allow wow to play sounds in background yes, check your sound options in wow
