The following is a quote from buddywing.com: "Buddy Wing allows you to do your daily quests, both for Jedi Republic or the Sith Empire. Buddy Wing covers the dailies on Ilum and Belsavis; it allows you to run profiles that grind mobs and it opens chests. Buddy Wing also comes with an build-in engine and profiles to level your character from level 1 to level 50.".

Here are the following things that BW doesn't do currently:
  • Daily quests
  • Grind mobs
  • Open chests
  • Leveling profiles

The reason for the above not happening is because BW either crashes every 5 mins or locks up in some kind of eternal loop and wont move at all. This happens both with DefaultCombat and WingIt. Sometimes when you click "stop" you have to ctr-alt-del and manually turn of BW process as it's once again stuck in some kind of loop. The time it takes to level a new char on Tython is 2-10 times longer than manually. As this bot isn't afkable for 2 cents you might as well not use the bot and level manually as you still need to babysit it ALL THE TIME.

One more quote from buddywing.com: "Not all leveling profiles are done yet, but they will be done and tested by 1st July 2012.".

It's around 144 days since 1th july 2012 but ONLY and BARELY the starter planet (levels 1-10) profiles work.

I think that i have been patient enough waiting for almost half an year for any kind of improvements to the bot but there has not been ANY kind of development on the bot since beginning of august this year [1]. So please explain to me how you justify taking money for a product that doesn't work at all?

I support Truestorrybro on this. I support the buddy team and there hard worke but BW is.. well.. its a pain and it never have worked.
 
it certainly locks up and crashes a lot. i wish it were a lot more stable.
 
The crashing is my biggest peeve. And the looping. I haven't (other than last night) really had a whole lot of trouble leveling. For me it only really gets stuck on planets with a lot of elevators and obstacles. My sorc and consular seem to almost never be able to engage in combat without help, that is also annoying.
 
which classes work the best for you phay?

i always used consular and sorc but you say they are not so great with buddywing?
 
No they are not. Ugh. I'd say 80% of the time I have to assist them in initiating combat, then they are fine. They just won't pull. I've had a much easier time with BH/Trooper and Smuggler/Agent. Warrior/Knight work fine also, but I had some issues with los. Chinajade mentioned they should be fixed with WingIt now, but I havent tried it out since. If you so decide to use BH I'd recommend JoeBrewskis, it worked better for me than the rest.

interesting, do those classes (BH/Trooper and Smuggler/Agent) follow the class quest and get their 3rd companion? because if they do i would just switch to using those classes.
 
BH/Trooper No, Smuggler I cant say because mine was already 50 when I started using it for combat bot and the like. Agent is fully supported.
 
The not so funny thing is, the day the bot was updated it ran flawlessly for 24 hours straight for me for the first time EVER. I could not believe my eyes watching it run the way it is supposed to. Killing packs of mobs in seconds, looting before the loot beam showed up, instantly mounting and then instantly moving after mounting. It was fucking amazing. REALLY REALLY fucking amazing.

The day after absolute garbage again.

Now I do not know how much of this bot is hosted server side by the buddy team and how much the client is used on our side but I can tell you straight up that if the entire bot was hosted on our machine and did not have to send messages to the BW servers all this bullshit they keep trying to tell us would disappear in an instant. As I personally believe it is a bandwidth problem. When the bot was updated I was pretty quick in starting it up and it ran a grind profile like I never believed possible. Now that everyone is back bottle necking the server and slowing or losing packets causing these fucking retarded errors.

Does anyone else have this assumption as well ?
 
well it could be that there is a problem with the server but the reason i don't think it is a bottleneck issue is because i don't think many people use the bot at the moment.

but i do wonder what it is, it's running like crap really. i just tried an agent and it was not very impressive.
 
As of right now with now the bot will work for 15 - 30 minutes MAX before what I like to call "error creep" begins to quickly slow down actions between combat until it eventually stops.

i'm guessing it is designed to get information from the navigation server because it is probably a very large amount of data and probably needs to be updated and improved from time to time.
 
I have heaps of nav errors, all last night and today. I should have been mostly done with Voss by now, but the constant nav errors have been a real hang up. Deep fry a turkey, come back, stuck. Make stuffing, come back, stuck again. Eat Thanksgiving meal with family, come back, DC. Ah come on.... I dont mind if it has trouble on a quest, sure thats fine, HB is like that too. But getting stuck just because it can't figure out how to go forward? Nah. Thats frustrating.

Easily capable of being stored on our computers and updated using SVN.

I think thats about right. Its kind of like these MMOs themselves, while we technically could keep them on our computer in their entirety, its easier fro the company to be able to update and alter what they need too by simply having servers to hold the data, then pump the data to the users. Especially since certain data nodes are constantly changing, you would be updating every few minutes instead of just feeding the data from the server.
The devs have stated a few times now that they plan to revamp this bot and give it more attention, the more vocal we are the more obvious it becomes that it needs some lovin. The code monkies have their work cut out for them on this bot in particular, and it takes double the effort to fix. I'm a bit more patient I know, but I also know that there are quite a few things that had an eta that was never met (quest completions and revamps, space bots, ect.) Unfortunately, we cant expect them to sit around on our threads and comment on every lament either.

I don't really give a flying fuck. If the bot does not work it is in beta. If it is in beta it should be fucking free until such times as it fucking works or not available to use at all.
