is it possible to have the bot pause once it reaches X number of blood shards ? or stop running all together ?

I suggest you let the bot use some of the excess bloodshard instead. Trinity config> item> gambling> check items you're interested on and adjust the sliders according to your needs.

i am and or was doing that what i was hoping to do was farm on one char and gamble on a second or third char
