QUESTION/STAT - Password change right before your ban, type of ban

Hey, I'm reading more and more about people getting an PW-reset mail right before their bans. I wanna know if these go together somehow.


Is there anyone else that got this Mail before bans?

By now 3/3 of my active Accounts got 72h locked, 2x 5year++, 1x SoR. 2 on friday and the SoR on sunday.

I was running questing profiles when I got 72h locked, first I got disconnected and HBRelog wasnt able to reconnect, then I noticed the password reset.
After I recovered my passwords (separate bnet accounts) all accunts got locked.

Account Action: 72 Hour Suspension
Reason for Action: Terms of Use Violation -- Exploitative Activity: Unauthorized Cheat Programs ("Hacks")

This suspension happened because one or more characters on this account were identified using an unauthorized cheat program, also known as a "hack.". These programs provide character benefits normally not achievable in the World of Warcraft. Such benefits include, but are not limited to, increased speed, teleportation, or running through walls/boundaries. Use of these unauthorized programs harm the game environment because they offer an unfair advantage over other players and superscede the intended limits of the game.

Even if this is the result of account sharing, the account owner can still be held responsible for the penalty because of the impact it had on the game environment.

We've found the above behaviour is many times directly related to groups responsible for compromising World of Warcraft accounts; we take these issues very seriously. Use of these "bots" negatively affects the World of Warcraft game environment, since they allow characters to progress without a fair degree of player control. These "bots" include, but are not limited to, programs that automate combat, movement, and use of gathering professions (such as fishing and mining).

Im getting a little confused because people are telling the %banchance keeps getting higher, but why does Blizzard ban for "Hacks" when they clearly separate "Hacks" from "Bots"? Is something else going on at the same time?
