I've been having this program pop up for a while now. It apparently tracks something. I've tried everything to get rid of it. I was wondering if anyone has had it and gotten rid of it or knows anything about it. My AVG pops up every time with the box in the picture.

The weird part is that if you go in to C:\user\david\appdata\roaming\microsoft\windows, there is no cookies folder. You have to manually type the cookies into the address bar to open the folder. My comp is set to show hidden files and folders. The whole folder is full of .txt files.

doing a quick search for 'resident shield' (Google) has several pages that appear to have potential solutions but I'm figuring you've already checked them.

I've worked a few times for days and even weeks to try and get rid of a pesky 'critter' (virus or spyware) in my system, but beyond that, if it's more than a once a boot type annoyance (nothing I try to get rid of it works and it pops up regularly), then it's time to close the partitian I'm on, reboot and reload Windows onto one of the other partitians. I have a large hard drive partitianed into 3 drives - I use 1 for my OS and the other 2 for storage... but there's always room to create a new windows load on one of thoe other drives, and remove the previous one from the other drive... I do that from time to time to keep the load fresh... Microsoft loads start to bog down the longer they've been running...
