I botted once before and got a 3 day suspension, but i was being stupid and used a skinning profile and left it unattended.

I'm wanting to use an ashran profile to gear my toon out.

Is all normal, and the people getting banned are just being irresponsible, or is something amiss?

Botting is never safe. You will always have the risks that come with the rewards.

For most of us the benefits outweigh the small chance we'll get banned on a toon that matters.

honestly, I see people botting in RBGs ALL THE TIME! literally in EVERY rbg over 2k mmr there's 2-3 botters. But they're the same players that've been botting this entire xpac and they still haven't been banned. pvp botting is not gonna get you banned. Blizz only cares if you mess with the economy i think.

This is purely speculation and is not fact at all.

The people that got banned recently was some kind of organized "wave" of bans (for lack of a better term) done by Blizz. The reason for the bannings of all those accounts is not 100% known by anyone, except for probably the developers here and Blizz.

The first reply is correct. Botting is never 100% safe. I think a general rule of thumb is that if HB is available, meaning that they have not taken the license offline, then it is for the most part Safe to use. [NOTE: I said "for the most part"] As in it is not detectable by the Warden (the software used to monitor 3rd party application usage). You are always at risk of being reported by other players.

if they ban me, i never buy subscription anymore, without bot this game for me gonna boring capEnder

If a rogue was to be botting, for ashran... what's the chances of getting reported? Just staying stealth near the main group and attacking priorty mobs as needed.

Bot smart and I say you'll never get caught. Purely speculation of course and i've been botting since glider was around. Some people have a eye for botters...some don't. I would say it would take more than one person that reported you to get the attention of a gm.

I am undecided on if the wave that just happened was a grouping of accounts that were reported and then banned all at once, or if it had something to do with being online during the tripwire event.

Also, your signature, I'm not 100% sure I buy into it. The Warden can be updated at anytime to add new code with new abilities. Which would revert back to my original post that if HB is online, then it is probably safe, because the staff has taken the necessary steps to ensure that it is undetectable to the best of their abilities.

your controlling movement? I do this all the time with Vitalic and Tuanha Cr's ..I just dont like leaving it do its own movement ..it always looks bottish to me and I mainly play for the enjoyment of the game

Never been banned for that here

If you look at the banned reports, several people reported only using the CR and manually controlling their toons, and they were still banned.

If you check US wow Arena Forums, im Shyokoliam (I posted bragging about 2600 to troll). I just got permanently banned for using a kickbot in arenas, but i only got caught because i didnt know i was streaming still and i opened my honorbuddy after a few hours of playing another game. For the most part it is safe and there isnt anything they can do about having a kickbot or using Vitalics(which ive used) unless you are stupid like me! For the most part i do not believe that you will ever get caught unless you're retarded like me lolololol

No.
As far as I, and many, many other people are concerned, right now is a HORRIBLE time to bot. Blizzard have come down HARD on any form of botting to artificially create a false facade of their crappy token not being a complete failure. They are detecting and banning people left and right with vastly different configurations, and the only "safer" thing to bot is some open-world farming. MoP Heroics are barely ever surviving more than 5-6 days, and that's with HWID, MAC address and anything else possible changed, a clean reinstall of Battle.net and WoW and a registry wipe.

Yes, there is absolutely something going on. They've done something to their bot detection on both EU and US.

yeah this is not true, been botting only pvp and banned for it.. 6month ban as a matter of fact, blizz cares about all botting just more lenient when it comes to PvP rather then messing wit the economy
