Question about RAF

So I decided to try RAF again to level up 8 toons to level 80.
However I don't understand the requirements needed for the exp bonus, and the Blizzard FAQ doesnt seem to clarify it anywhere.

What exactly does my 2nd account need for the exp bonus?

So far, I think it only needs wow battlechest(vanilla, tbc, wotlk + 30 day gametime) for raf bonus right?

or

Do you need to purchase 2 months gametime of exp bonus? so purchase 1x30day code in addition to the 30 day of battlechest?

Please someone clarify to me.

As long as you are in a party together, and within like 100m from each other, you get the 300% xp, I assume you did actually create the recruited account through the link sent from the main account?

Battlechest alone will do it, no need to add extra gametime to it if you can level them all in 30 days. You do however get 30 days added to your main account as well if you add 30 days to your RAF account and the mount if you add 30 more.
