Question about previous ban waves

On the previous ban waves (i.e glider), did they ban just the botting account or was it all known accounts etc.

For me I had hit 80 two days prior and then got banned. I laughed about it, but then I got really depressed since I had hand leveled it most of the way before purchasing glider. I know my gf's accounts never got banned though.

in simple terms:
When ban waves go out, its because they've *****ed a code of some sort.

they scan the servers for a few days to see anyone who is using that code

Any accounts caught doing so during this period is put on a list, to which they just ban all at once.

Ahh alright. I was just curious because i have a very geared main account worth a lot of money and am a little nervous about it getting banned even though i don't bot on him. I use to go overboard and use a vpn (hotspotshield) and a vmware for each of my botting account, but i kinda want to play my toons ive leveled up, but cant do that through a vpn such as hotspot shield which gives me 500 latency.

So im kind of nervous to play him normally on the same ip address if he has botted before and such.

its just the account, as long as your not sending massive amounts of gold to other accounts, chances are blizzard wont even look at the other accounts.
however if the bot where to somehow become detected then all accounts that where attached to the bot would be effectived.
