Question about Key / Session

Just purchased the 3 license and got only 1 key available for use for 3 sessions and 3600 days after initial use.

What is 1 "session" considered as?

I originally bought the 3 pack as I was going to use 1, and have another friend use 1 and a third friend use the last one. Did I waste my money in getting the 3 pack? lol

*i'm all new to this so if anyone could please explain.......
