Question about CR safety for raiding

Ok, so I heard there was a ban wave just a week or two ago from a friend, is this true? Also, I have a question about the safety of the bot and what is causing these "ban waves". I know that a vast majority of bans are coming from gathering/arena CRs right? But how safe is it to use a CR for raid purposes only (no grinding, no gathering, not BGs, nothing). Are these bans solely from them detecting character patterns or things like that, or are they actual detections of the software itself? I know "don't cheat if you aren't willing to suffer the consequences", that is not what I am asking. I am asking as an recently returned, experienced HB user, are people seeing bans from SOLELY using CRs in a raid situation?

I've been using CR's / gatherbuddy / questbot / world-quest plugin / CRs for raids and dungeons - since Legion came out and I've never been hit and shit ive been botting this account since glider days(BC/wotlk) and havent been banned yet, ban waves are very situational and vary person its almost impossible to tell you what will cause you to be banned, I assume its people who just 100%afk their bot, run it for too long, or abuse the auction house, maybe run it the day the bot gets updated who can say really.

The ban waves you speak of are from a different product, not Honorbuddy.
