I've seen a few similar threads and they are mostly unanswered.

So I am lvl45 and I still have weapons that I had to buy at lvl25 in AH because bot won't pick them anywhere. I also don't have any trinkets. I've seen bot pick off-spec reward over very good trinket :/

Can someone help me out here?

Yes and it doesn't seem to make any difference, bot is still choosing bad armors over trinkets/weapons.

have you selected TwoHander in settings if you are a retpally and all the respectives? you need to select a weapontype, for me the new AE2 works great, gone for ench shammy 1-85 with kicks and it and i am 51 atm and weapons from 50 resp. 48

I haven't tried the newest AE2 yet, but that's only because when I downloaded 5842 it seemed to be more glitchy than 5800, so I didn't really use it to do anything. They posted up, then removed, 5845 due to some recently discovered errors in code. I think that's what the issue was. And now, everyone is downgrading back to 5800. But, as you say, I've leveled several toons and AE2 would always pick armor over weapons/trinkets. Some of the armor was good, but sometimes it wasn't, but either way I just went to the AH and updated things every few levels (usually 10-15 levels). I'm hoping that the new AE2 will be better. I'll be testing it while leveling my mage.
