Is there somewhere I can read up on how to create a quest oreder profile? I have googled and what not and havent found anything useful. I did find a site that said to use a program called Navicat which i found to be Database program. I don't really see its use in what I am wanting to do. I am wanting to create a quest order 1-60 60-70 70-80. I don't think locating the quest's for each zone will be too difficult thanks to wow head and thottbot. However the cords for the quest givers and such I am sure are different in game than they are on any program I might use for my profiles. Any information would be helpful. Id like any sites that have step by step directions as my learning curve is well lets just say lacking. Thanks all.

Your two resources are the material contained in the

and
[wiki]HonorBuddy: Getting Started as a Profile Writer[/wiki]

Many people also study the work of others to understand what is going on.

Good luck, and welcome aboard,
CJ

So a couple of resources I found on HB site are Cowquests and Apocs Profile Editor. What I am wanting to make are profiles essentially for each zone. Say Hellfire Pen you start at the very first quest in the zone and when your done you have acheivement for completing all of the quests. I've looked around on wiki for zone quest orders and the only thing I can find is lists of quests in each zone. Is there a resource available that will show me quest 1 quest 2 so on and so fourth. Cowquests and Apocs are chock full of information however this is one piece of info I can't seem to lay my eyeballs on.

Thank you so much. And you were right. Simply reading others work can provide one helluva leadoff. At the very least I know where I want to start and am able to put a gameplan together.

Personally, I love these kinds of profiles! However, you will find that Honorbuddy doesn't yet contain all the Profile machinery to let you do all the various kinds of questing. It is very solid on kill tasks and collection tasks. But quests that require NPC interaction, escorting, and such are its weakness at the moment.

I'm certain the Honorbuddy team plans to address these weaknesses. With Cataclysm, many of the new quests--even in the starting zones--require complex interactions or sequences. This will put pressure on the Honorbuddy team to look into this area soon.

In short, the zone achievements are probably not doable with 100% automation. But, if you can get us 90-95% there, the Community will be thankful for all the things it didn't have to do.

And, some day... <drifts off dreaming wistfully>

You won't find this information on the Buddy Wiki--ever. This is a job for WoWHead, WoWWiki, Zygor's Questing Guide, and many others. Repeating such information--much of it collected automatically--in the Buddy Wiki, would be pointless.

I've never spent time to use any of the profile editors that have been written by the Community. Some of them may be capable of accessing the WoWHead information for you and sequencing the activities, but I wouldn't bet on it.

You've already hit on one of the reasons why writing a quality questing profile is so much more involved than mind-numbingly easy grinding profiles. You'll be a much better person for even making the attempt at one. :D

Good luck with your endeavors! Rest assured such contributions are greatly appreciated by the Community.

cheers,
CJ
